Every single plugin available is also available as a crack, piracy is irrelevant. The Music Radar poll has a specific target market that just happens to have a massive crossover with Sylenth customers.

Sylenth is probably the best selling non NI plugin out there.

My guess would be at least 25,000 sales.

What, you mean something like people liking it, using it? Stuff like that?

That's what I was trying to point out as well ;)

What some folks seem to keep forgetting is that not all VST users like to sculpt their own sounds. Now on KVR this is regarded as an -almost- mandatory skill, but truth is to some folks a synth packed with ready to go sounds with an intuitive layout is all they need. Instant gratification - why not :)
TELURICA - "Made In ___ [INSERT LOCATION]" - EP.

Exactly

I can use something like Zebra but when I want a simple pluck or bass sound why would I? :?

Sylenth is THE perfect tool for the dance crowd, whether they can program or not.

The fact that it sounds wonderful is the icing on the cake.

The only thing it lacks is true PWM

That is far from the only thing it lacks...

Love Sylenth.

To watch some of the people who dislike it dismiss it with such vitriol is hilarious.

Now, where's that Mac 64 bit version...

In terms of its intended market, it really doesn't need anything else.

Thought I would do a quick search on Youtube just using Sylenth1 as my key - got over 50,000 vids

Then thumbed through the Future Music vids and picked out a few names I knew.

From Korn to Armin Van Buuren on Sylenth1

While it doesn't appeal to me (I do like it's filter, though), Sylenth is brilliantly designed. People say "If only it had PWM, sync, through-zero time travel envelopes and quadrature audio-rate modulation" but the truth is, Sylenth runs like poop off a shovel because the audio/synth engine/architechture has been stripped right down to basics, allowing optimisation to run even deeper than it would on a more complex synth.

For me, though, such a compromise isn't desirable. I'll take the PWM and extra knobs, dials and zigzag plotter along with the increased CPU hit, because I enjoy deep synthesis, and I feel that's what my music needs.

Interesting/amusing little side factoid: Did you know Avicii is the name of the lowest level of hell and means "eternal suffering"? :hihi:

I adore Sylenth1 because it's so easy to make it sound great.

Please do not consider what is below as advertising in disguise, I'm just talking my personal experience.

When I got it last year to make a soundbank, the last thing I wanted to do with it was yet another EDM/Trance/Dance bank.
So I took it to unexpected territories and I'm still amazed at what it can do, with such simplicity.
This is 100% Sylenth1, one patch at a time, with no external processing.

It also runs in Reaktor Player.
idfpower wrote:, second, IIRC it's monophonic - I really don't see how it's the same thing as Sylenth.
Yes, it's monophonic. Also it doesn't respond to velocity. But where did anyone say "it's the same thing as Sylenth?" People have said "I prefer Monark" or "Monark sounds better" or "Sylenth is better" or whatever (changing nobody's opinion on the matter). :smack:
