I'm intrigued by this conclusion. What do you mean by "sound quality"?

how good it sounds. I guess you could say the less "cheap sounding" the better. Ever hear some of these weaker synths, some free ones, some really low priced ones? They have a "cheap" sound to them. The farther in the other direction is what I call "sound quality".
Both Zebra and Sylenth are excellent sounding synths and very capable of do anything. People use more Sylenth cuz it's very easy to use and thre's thousands of soundset for it. Anyways Zebra doesnt kill Sylenth but not lose that competion either. There's maybe 30 vst synths which are great. If you want make soundtracks Camel Audio Alchemy kills both of those anyway. Also FL Studio is very capable DAW as well 10 others. It depends on what you going to do with that DAW.

Gee I feel the exact opposite.
To me, Sylenth1 is one of the most overated.
And Zebra is still being developed and getting better all the time.

Really? Why is that? Zebra has been used for big movie soundracks, apparently...

Ok admit. Both are really good for that use.

Sylenth is popular for a reason. The fundamental sound quality is really good, and you can run a bunch of voices out of it without killing your CPU. Beyond that, it's pretty much a matter of taste.
I like Sylenth for it's strengths, but it's not my favorite synth out there. Z3ta+ and Z3ta 2 can do pretty much the same kinds of sounds with proper programming, plus a whole lot of things Sylenth just simply can't do. Nothing wrong with that. Leonnard wasn't looking to make a synth that does everything lol.
VST PRESETS ---> http://xenossoundworks.com
Bazille, NI Massive, Z3ta, PPG Wave, TAL-J8, RePro, Diva, Spire and more

Agreed, Z3ta+2 programmed properly does the job nicely.

I have managed to hold my breath for 3 minutes and 27 seconds. That's my new record.

Double that and you'll be hired for the inevitable remake of "The Creature from the Black Lagoon". :D

On topic: I'm very sure that there's no reason for one synth to kill another synth. In point of fact, all available synths are coexisting peacefully, with love in their oscillators and compassion in their filters.

i was about to comment but its really not worth it. :D
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Beware the fanboys  Synleth1 is popular because it has a million of presets available and it's sound designers that keep it alive. Lennar seems dead.

And it was simply pathetic to see a dev jump into this thread because someone didn't like his product quality.

Sylenth is only over-rated in the sense that it is super popular within a certain genre... In other areas it is hardly even mentioned...

One of the odd things is that lots of people who like Sylenth say it sounds analog. It is obviously digital and doesn't sound like an analog synth at all other than being a basic subtractive architecture.

Sylenth does the supersaw sound better than Zebra...

Myself, I find Sylenth a bit boring... demo'ed it lots of times, found some things I liked, some I didn't and I always pass... the last dozen or so soundsets I've listened to all sound just like previous soundsets. I find it weak in the bass, the high end is very nice and it does that lovely shimmery fizzy sound really well.

There are lots of tones you cannot get out of it... The world of synthesis is vast and Sylenth is a little sliver... The sonic range of Zebra is 50 times that of Sylenth. Even if Zebra were not developed further, there could be fresh soundsets coming out for it for years. It is so deep and vast and there is still so much territory to explore. I so enjoy that myself. Different strokes as they say...

You said "fanboys". And you added a "lol" to it. Then you misspelled "Sylenth1". Then you greatly exaggerated the number of presets available for said synth. Then you confused "it's" with "its". Then you claimed that someone named "Lennar" seems dead, even though I can't think of a single dev that's called "Lennar", although I can imagine he wouldn't appreciate to be assumed dead, providing he actually existed.

And then you found someone else "pathetic".
