I'm a fan of FM Synths, and I'm surely interested in Nemesis.

I have FM8, but not too happy with it, I was always hoping for a better FM VST synth. So... Would you recommend Nemesis ?

Looking at the features Nemesis offers, it is quite impressive, and has quite a bit in terms of diversity, and functionality for a FM synth.

Any feedback would be great. (I know there is a demo I can download and use, but it would be great, and helpful to hear from experienced users).

Thanks,
Muziksculp
I was on the beta, Muziksculp. First thing: DO download the demo. use it for a while before you make up your mind as programming Nemesis is NOT like programming FM7 or FM8 or Sytrus or any of the other FM players. Nemesis has its own powerful language and while it operates close to what you may be used to in terms of principles of FM, it is capable of a much more varied soundset. Harder to explain than to experience. Do some tweaking and see if you don't agree ;)

enjoy!

Hi blortblort,

Thanks for the feedback. I have no problem with using a very different type of FM synth like Nemesis. I understand it is quite a new take on FM programming/synthesis. Which is all cool and good.

I will try the demo first. (But more feedback is welcome, and will be helpful).

As far as the demo goes, how long can I use the demo ? and does it have any of these annoying beeps that occur every x-minutes while I use it ? :)

Thanks,
Muziksculp

The current version is very click heavy. I would have liked to flip through different FM synthesis types instead of click > drop down opens > select/click on operator. There's a couple of those things where I think for this price it should really be more "polished" and user friendly.

The provided features and GUI looking great, and i'm not a fan of fm synthesis (yet) :D

Oh yes! The patches shown in the demo video, had to much flavour of dance music 1 or 2 decades ago :hihi:

Here's the opening track of the album

The Tone2 demo is geared towards the EDM kids. They should use Mac's track as the alternate demo for adults. :)

After hearing Mac's track, Nemesis sounds a lot more interesting. However, I won't get it because I still have only scratched the surface of Rayblaster. Too many synths, too little time.

Post

Thank you, Frantz :) (btw, I also made a Rayblaster-only album, if anybody was interested http://macofbionight.bandcamp.com/album ... -series-03 )

In all honesty, I've only tried two Tone2 synths, and I think they are pretty good indeed - it takes a little while to really understand what they can do, but they are well worth any effort. Nemesis is really versatile and fun, don't be put off by whatever you may not be enthused about on the surface, try it out extensively and you'll see what it can do for you.

Here are some of the presets I made

..and some short demos. Battery3 was used for the drums.

Some presets might end up on future soundsets.

Nice sounds :)

Either I am too dumb or I need a new pair of glasses. I can't find the Nemesis Giveaway post.
EDIT: Got it. There's a new one already, which made me confuse :)

My votes (perhaps with the exception of one patch from Markus), didn't went to sounds in the dance type. Which ones are yours?
