Here is the preset for the above example, it only works with the latest Beta of course:

<ValhallaVintageVerb pluginVersion="1.0.2b63" presetName="Guitar Beauty" Mix="1" PreDelay="0.29800000786781311035" Decay="0.55599999427795410156" Size="0.63200002908706665039" Attack="0.36399999260902404785" BassMult="0.58700001239776611328" BassXover="0.44470110535621643066" HighShelf="0.55199998617172241211" HighFreq="0.58399999141693115234" EarlyDiffusion="0.86000001430511474609" LateDiffusion="0.71200001239776611328" ModRate="0.08900000154972076416" ModDepth="0.69199997186660766602" HighCut="0.70300000905990600586" LowCut="0.024000000208616256714" ColorMode="1" ReverbMode="0.5"/>
I tried this out. This is a LONG decay. Very nice for very slow pieces.

I'd probably put it on 1980s mode, as I really like the 15 kHz brickwall filter I've put into that mode. However, the Smooth algorithms are one of the places where the NOW modes sound nice to my ears.

Just a reminder to all OSX VintageVerb customers: I have a beta that is currently being tested, with 6 new reverb modes, AAX 32/64 bit builds (as well as VST/AU/RTAS), and some bug fixes. So, if you own VintageVerb and would like to test the beta on OSX, send me an email.

PC folks: I've been working on the port to Windows. I'll post here when the Windows versions are ready for testing.

Well I'm, um, Bi... ;)

And I requested the OS X beta, but haven't heard anything.

Check your spam filter. I've been sending out the betas as soon as I receive the requests.

I just finished the AAX 32/64-bit alpha for ValhallaShimmer today! It's not ready for full on beta testing yet, but it's getting close. The port didn't take nearly as long as I thought.

PC user here, waiting...

I have one FR, though : is it possible to add a switch that toggles the MIX knob between 100% (Send) and 15% (default for insert) and the ability to set this option (100/15) as default setting ?

:bang: :x spam filter!! You were right. Funny how I keep marking stuff as "non junk" at my ISP's spam filter, but it keeps filtering the same stuff...

Anyway, thanks! :)

I'm not going to add any more controls to the VintageVerb GUI. The goal with VintageVerb was to get as minimal as possible, while still having enough control over the core algorithms.

You can use the MIX lock feature to keep the mix level at the desired place. Just set the Mix knob to the level you want, and click the word MIX above the Mix knob.

yes, and in my opinion, the Smooth Random algo on its own is worth $150...
just amazing...

So how do these new smooth algorithms compare to VRoom? Are they more that style? Or do they still compare to some vintage reverbs? Or in other words, are they more of a realistic space type reverb as opposed to the old hardware boxes?

The new Smooth algorithms aren't very VRoomy at all. The Smooth algorithms are still in the Lexicon-ish camp, but are getting a lot more "ish" than the other VintageVerb algorithms. The [EDIT] resonance distribution will be closest to the Chorus Space and Random Space algorithms in VintageVerb, but with a LOT more attack to the initial decay, and an exponential decay that sounds, well, smoother than the vintage style algorithms.

Are the Smooth algorithms REALISTIC? I don't think so. At least, that wasn't my goal. I didn't want them to sound like a room. I wanted them to sound GOOD. A signal with the Smooth algorithms won't sound like a sound source in a room, so much as that source, extended by reverb, where the reverb sounds like the source signal. Subtle and pleasing to the ear (I hope), but more hyperreal than realistic.

Where do I download this? The site only has the demo version on the main page, and the initial email points to the version at the time of purchase. I tried changing the URL but that didn't work. Sent a message via support box on the site a couple days ago but haven't heard back. afaik the demo and full versions are completely separate installers, rather than the demo being unlock able.

edit: it's not in my spam folder :)
