How comes? Win or Osx? Osx Ableton here and it is pretty solid...

I am on 64bit Windows 8. It crashed when I played more than one note at a time, and when I tried to freeze the track.

Reaper was fine with polyphony. I did not try rendering the track.

I see. Might be a Win issue then.

I suggest you guys to contact directly the dev for crashes and bug reports.

This thing is going to be a big hit. It surpasses Granite from New Sonic Arts!

+1, Win 8.1 x64, Ableton Live 9.1 32

Seems to be patch specific for me. Can use polyphony (only double notes tested) & freeze and render whilst using factory patch "Guitar Grains", but trying any of this with the factory patch "Synth Sequences" means a trip to Crash City.

Tried polyphony in Tracktion 4 32 - all factory patches quite happy, as soon as we get to "Synth Sequence" - again, trip to crash city.

Trying to load the factory patch "Synth Sequences" means a trip to Crash City here too (Win Vista 32bit, Reaper).
But i could spend some good time loading my own samples and messing around with them, listening to the sound evolving by himself ;)

Having troubles playing back The Mangle in 88.2Khz sessions

Loading The Mangle forced my session into a 48Khz sample rate.

The Mangle indeed supports WinXP. At least for about a minute after each invocation. :hihi: With sound and all.
I saw that your installer relies on C:\ProgramData as its data installation path. You should perhaps use %APPDATA% or %CommonProgramFiles% from the environment instead of a hardcoded path. The VST plugin path to suggest for installation can be extracted from the registry. It's a string at HKLM\SOFTWARE\VST\VSTPluginsPath.
If that key doesn't exist, you're good to guess and suggest that to the user.
let me understand:
is that a trick to run the mangle on xp? does it work?
I know xp is very old but I still find it very good (and I'm a bit lazy to upgrade to 7.....)

I'd like to purchase this little beast......

man, the vid sounds shiiiiiiiiiiinyyy, will definitely try befriending this fella. Multi-outputs on the list, perhaps?

edit: someone asked before, worth asking again - performance modulation support? aftertouch on volume of some melting noise spits with modwheel on a fat chick belly-dancing in granular would be wicked!
Mavericks is buggy it has many known reported and known issues. And 10.6.8 is still the most stable and least resource hungry version of OSX. That's why a lot of pro users have stuck with Snow Leopard because it has proven to be reliable.

Consider The Mangle non-functioning on Windows XP. It works (and even produces sound) for some seconds up to a minute in Savihost. But it will crash for sure.
Today I've used The Mangle in Live 8.2.5 on my Windows 7 laptop. That worked fine without any crashes. Had some situations where it produced no sound, though. Guess I'll explore this further when my new Windows 8 workstation arrives.

+1, Live 9.1. Haven't had any problems automating any parameter yet.

WOW.... very interesting . Me want me want

On my system it's often crashing using on Live 9.1, on Windows 7 64 bit. It freezes and I have to End Task of ableton.

....Update, the same happens on REAPER 32 bit.

Although they're diffent and Granite can do things The Mangle can't, New Sonic Arts definitely has a serious solid competitor here...
