Yep, happens all the time.
If I try to open a bunch of SC tabs half will error. I reload once, and they work instantly.
My faith in SoundCloud has been halved in the last year.
They just dont care about the bedroom musicians any more. The ones that got them where they are.
They are lucky they dont have a real competitor...

I only see those errors when my internet connection is too slow, e.g., bad WiFi connection.

Got the same issue... maybe their site is not properly programmed? But it's funny that nobody at SoundClound has noticed this error so far...

I have had two eras where I couldn't connect to it at all. Yes, I have had inexplicable 'Sorry, something went wrong' doing nothing exotic.
I don't like SC, I would never get a pro account with the issues I have had. One of the 'improvements' has been it truncating my file name, and in making tags cutting words off that I for sure typed before I hit enter. It's in so many ways an irritating experience, so I don't dwell there. The only use it has for me is a widget that embeds here and Facebook automatically just from the link.
And it caches everything so one is never in realtime and often a couple of removes from it and I can't trust it to show my changes so much. I think it's a great botch.

Is anyone using Bandcamp? I'm starting to think about switching.

I have a Bandcamp that I dont use.
SoundCloud was first built around the idea of musicians being able to communicate with each other and hear each others music. For me thats what is cool about it. It has since drifted a little bit.
Bandcamp is great but it seems to be more focused on actual distribution of music, whether for money or for free.
Maybe it is just a connectivity thing.
Mine definitely only does it when I try to open like five SC tabs at once.

I agree there should be another competitor but I have never had any major issues with Soundcloud. Their new layout....which has been around for like....a year now? Is still being optimized. However, considering the length of time it has been, it sure would be nice if they finish it.
First off the PM system is still using the old layout and I don't get pushed updates from PMs often. Also the Latest Activity thing never seems to update so it's always reminding me of old "Latest Activity" which bothers the hell out of the OCD side of me.
But everything functions, and the most important part; the sound player, is very good! Well...as far as optimization goes. The audio stream is something different.

This error always appears when you click a sc-link in a boardpost or not?

That's true. SC may not be perfect, but it's way ahead any competitor.highkoo wrote: They are lucky they dont have a real competitor...
I only have problems with SC groups. Since I still use SC classic, it seems that most groups became "uncompatible" with the old interface. I can't access some of the groups I used to post my tracks on. If I switch to the new interface, the links work normally.
And I have no problem openning a bunch of SC tabs, besides some (very) ocasional flash plugin crashes.

Yes, I would agree that this is true - so it is probably something down to entering the site from the outside without first passing some 'portal'.Wildfunk wrote:This error always appears when you click a sc-link in a boardpost or not?
I never have the issue if I intentionally visit SC first, then listen to tracks. It is always following an external link to a specific track. Reload always fixes it.
