Hi,
i just did an improvisation with Nemesis using 4 layered patches (3 pads + Piano) and a Lead sound recorded all in one take without overdub (length: 6:03 min.):
Nemesis Improvisation 01
This uses 5 instances of Nemesis. The Lead sound and one pad sound are from the factory sounds (patches: "Almost Additive MN", "Legsine STS"). The other 3 patches including the piano and 2 pad sounds are new sounds from myself, not included with the factory content (maybe in an upcoming soundset...).
No external FXs used, also no mastering FXs.

seems to work here, both direct playback and downloading (with right-click menu).
Checked in Windows 7 with both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 11.

Now it works, maybe it was a temporary network failure, who knows...
Anyway, very nice piece, a la Vangelis here and there, cool

Uninstalled the demo after playing with it for the last week. It's a good synth, to be sure. It just feels it tried so hard to be more than FM and ended up sounding like less than FM and more like their other synths to me.
BTW, BestService has a BOGO sale that includes Tone2 synths until 01-12-14.
Great way to get these.

Rayblaster was on the two for one list, I probably saw Nemesis on the brand name list then.sl1914 wrote:Just checked the Best Service offer.
AFAIK it includes 4 of their older synths, NOT Nemesis.
Still a great deal for Tone2 products since they never seem to have any real sale themselves.

Many thanks for your comment. My biggest inspirations are by e.g. Vangelis, J.M. Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Genesis and some others.Mac of BIOnighT wrote:Now it works, maybe it was a temporary network failure, who knows...

As this was an Improvisation and recored in one take maybe there are a few not so pefect notes. Maybe i'll try to correct those and post an updated version later.
------------------------------------------------
BTW the Piano sound is done with a combination of the additive editor (from scratch the way like i explained on the previous page) and FM.
some more general comments:
The combination of an additive editor and FM is not new but IMO quite powerful. Glad that they implemented this feature (also based on a suggestion i made before beta testing started...) and that it seems to work nicely.
I have rarely touched the advanced controls for the additive editor yet (in the edit menu). With those you could manupulate the phases and also partials beyond the first 16.
While the filters (one for each operator) are maybe limited compared to those in e.g. VA synths (the corresponding knob corrsponds more to filter amount than to the Cutoff) they are still quite useful for shaping the waveforms further. They could make a "harsh" or "bright" sound ing waveform sounding more smooth and/or less bright. When using the filter the waveform display is updated in real time. This is why when creating a new waveform the filter knob should be set to maximum first to show the unchanged waveform. The filter could then be applied later.

Hi,
Tone2 released the new "ChartBreaker" soundset for Nemesis which includes 200 patches from various sound designers (not from me this time):
http://www.tone2.com/html/chartbreaker.html
If i find some time i'll maybe do a few of my own audio demos with patches from the ChartBreaker soundset.
As mentioned ealier there will be more soundsets soon. Tone2 has posted an "overview" of planned soundsets at their website:
http://www.tone2.com/html/overview_ne.html
Next one will be the "Classic FM" soundset which is work in progress (like mentioned at the website). This will use a limited feature set inspired by classic FM synths (e.g. "old" phase modulation modes only, no Unison etc.).
Three patches that i created for this new soundset are included with the demo posted at the top of this page.

I think several of the pad sounds I used in the tracks of mine you heard above will be included in this set.

You should nopt forget that Tone2 is paying their sound designers which is also true for factory sounds. It's a one time payment with a certain amount for each patch included in the final product.spirit wrote:Given that Tone2 clearly has a policy monetizing this synth through a stream of soundsets, you'd think the purchase price would be a little less steep.
It's different if you are the only sound designer and earn all the money yourself or if you have to pay a bigger amount of other sound designers.
IMO the Tone2 sound designers are very talented and usually very loyal to the company. Some seem to work for Tone2 since ages.
Another thing is that Tone2 soundsets usually contain 200 or more patches which is more than many other soundsets available for synth of other companies.
IMO the quality of both the Tone2 synths and soundsets is top notch and while i agree the soundsets are not cheap they seem to be worth the money.
For some synths (ElectraX + Gladiator 2) there are also bundles that include the synth and all soundsets for that synth. In the "complete bundle" all synths, effects and soundsets from Tone2 are included.

The synth doesn't sound bad at all but considering the price and the money charged for the presets I skipped this one, just like Earblaster. Waiting for a sale and then I'll might reconsider.
And for starters: IMO Native Instruments Komplete 9 is a way better deal for even 300€ less and this statement is from someone not being connected to any company. But that's just an opinion. Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.
