Agreed... thanks for the tip!

Well whaddaya know, a cat picture I actually enjoyed! And all this time I've thought everyone on here was mentally challenged but now I see the beauty of it, sorry guys for judging you all.

Well it's a bummer to hear what Thomas has said, but it's not like he didn't warn us before.

Also though there are a few guys who as far as I can tell are not testers and are still talking like they know, it'd be nice if we could avoid that sort of noise.

Facebook natives are getting surprisingly restless, just check out the top comments for the new video:

I worked in community management for a while and Bitwig's efforts (or lack thereof) in that field just make my brain itch. Keeping people happy and excited about an unreleased product is the easiest thing in the world, as long as you say the right things, but they clearly have no idea what those things are.

Well not to undermine your point but I'd much rather have guys that know how to make a daw than guys who know how to do pr. And hey, maybe the fact that they don't have one of those guys on the team could be reflected in the price.

What are the things you would have done in their place?

hehe.. I think the facebook comment poster that says he will surely tell his children, grand children, and maybe great grand children about this software is quite :hihi:

I too would much rather have a good DAW than 'good' PR (which is usually lies when you get right down to it)

i don't care wether they do a public beta or not, or provide any additional info on release date or price or whatever..the only thing thats important to me is the programm itself and how it behaves. after a demo i consider the price and see if its worth it for me or not, easy as that.

I wouldn't have mentioned a release date! Of course that's easy for me to say, I don't know what their internal situation was.

Still they should try to clean up the mess and set future expectations accurately. If it won't be out this year then: "We need to do a bit more work, it will be out as soon as it's done. We plan to make an announcement X weeks before the release." Then the community knows they can stop thinking about it until the announcement, but also has a small bone thrown to them in terms of what will happen in the future, even though no new release date is set.

There are basically three things that really piss (potential) customers off: feeling ignored, feeling like you (the company) don't understand them, and feeling like they do not understood you (the company). Regardless of the situation those are the universal rage triggers.

They keep posting the teaser videos, which reminds people that they are there and active, but fail to reply to any questions or concerns - which makes people feel ignored. The dudes that are angry feel misunderstood by Bitwig because they are sold on the features and want to try it already - the only communications they get, the teaser videos, are answering a different question than the one they are asking. And nobody really understands why Bitwig can't provide some guidance on the status of the release they publicly committed to a couple months ago. So that's all three things that make people mad, and that's not good.

This is one of the bizarre manifestations of modern life... If someone wants to be understood, that is what friends are for...
