'Chord Suggestions' are based on analyzing about 2000 songs, and as you realized it does not respect the current key.
I must admit it is not very usable. This will soon be replaced by a better suggestion system which offers sensible 'next' chords for the current key by knowing the harmonic function of the chords.
Sorry about this, it is indeed not the brightest part of the program. Everything is thought out already for this new feature, I just need some time to implement it.
Thanks,
Attila

I didn't say that the function is bad. It is actually quite amazing to have chord suggestions that are generated based on analyzing 2000 songs. The only thing I was asking for is a feature to get a better overview of the direction in which a progression is evolving in the harmonic space.

No, you didn't ... just that it could be improved. I think that is exactly what Attila is saying as well as agreeing with my analysis that the suggestions are not linked to the harmonic role (except for the tonic, obviously!) that the chord plays in the key/ scale setting of its part.J.F.K. wrote:I didn't say that the function is bad. I think ideally there should be both 'substitutions' and 'next in progression' suggestions.
As we watch this program mature, there is no doubt in my mind that Attila will 'nail' this too ... as he already has with so many other aspects of RC.
Help! I've fallen up and can't get down!
