Hi all,

As you might know from the previous thread in the temporary forum, we are giving away the FULL version of Cakewalk's Rapture synth with Computer Music issue 200 :)

It's included with the print and digital editions of the mag: http://bit.ly/cmu200

Here's a video on using the synth – the magazine includes a full-length CM tutorial on using Rapture, including more videos like this.

Thanks,

I hope this means that an updated version is coming too. I really hope that its more stable than the current version because it crashes pretty much any DAW I have tried to run it in that is not Sonar. When it works I like it but usually it doesn't work for very long.

FWIW, it's abolutely rock stable in Cubase 6 Elements here, and no problems in VSTHost either.

I am jealous it crashes Ableton, Maschine, Reaper, and Studio One demo. I am not trying to throw anyone under the bus I am just saying its a good synth that I wish was more stable so I could use it more often. Usually just opening it crashes my host.

I also got some problems with Rapture crashing previously, but after upgrading to FL11 and also using the 64 bit version, I haven't had any crashes of late as I can remember.

Looks like I will be buying CM 200!

I am using the 64 bit version as well.

What version number is the CM one? I'm on version 1.2 here, 32-bit, but i bought it directly from Cakewalk some time ago.

Works fine in Reaper for me .. To my knowledge I've never had a single crash in Cubase, Reaper, Samplitude or Sonar caused by Rapture.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

unless I ran it in Sonar X1. I wonder if there is something I can do to get this guy working.

Latest version, which is 1.2.2

The 1.2 version getting old now...

Working perfectly in FL Studio 9 (32bit) ;) You can download the updates + free expansions directly from Cakewalk's website, free additional banks available on Patch Arena ;)
TELURICA - "Made In ___ [INSERT LOCATION]" - EP.
Available now on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/telurica/sets/ma ... t-location

Doesn't just work well in EnergyXT2, it goes into the mystical, in a way that can only happen with the world's most mysterious and laws of the universe defying DAW.

See here, my post to find out jwtf I'm talking about:

(half way down the page)

I give links to a load of free patches for it as well. Essential.

Perhaps someone else might like to try this little trick. It's pretty nifty.

The 32-bit version works flawlessly in REAPER. Maybe there is some problem with the 64-bit version...
