Hi guys,
My USB mic doesn't register in Cubase, and I read that installing a universal ASIO driver would fix this. So I installed ASIO4ALL (http://www.asio4all.com/) and now I don't have any sound (not in Cubase, but also not in Windows). I tried uninstalling the driver but still no sound. I can, however, record with my mic in Cubase now. But without sound, that is not going to help me.
Anyone know what's going on? Much appreciated!

windows audio and asio are two different drivers. If you want sound in windows then you should check the windows audio mixer. (speaker icon on the bottom right en check if your input is not muted).
When installing an asio driver (f.e. asio4all is excellent) you should setup the driver in cubase and make the right connections before you will hear something. Next thing is connecting the input in the cubase main window.
But still better is to read the manual once where this kind of things is thourougly explained. Everybody should read the manual once in his or her lifetime and it really helps!

Usually with Asio the same device is used for both recording AND playback. Since a USB mic cannot playback you have to resort to some witchcraft.
For this purpose Asio4All has the Einstein mode to create a virtual (aggregate) device, so the mic can be used for recording and your builtin soundcard for playback. Try that...
