In order to reduce the CPU load, it will be a monosynth and feature only one filter, a 6db hp filter, 0df, mind you 8) And it will feature command line operation, no more GUI :D

Still in beta

As I understand from these Dune2 threads, there will be not only added features, but also improvements to the sound engine. As much as I like the overall sonic character of Dune (I have the CM one installed), I always wanted the sound to be more tight and focused (for the lack of better words, Diva may be an example of what I mean). If Dune2 steps into this direction it may become a synth I dreamed of for ages. Hopefully, the release date won't be bitwigged.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

+1

I laughed, i hope they will release a CM/BE version right away and that it's later in this month so i can buy dune v1.4 before 2 comes out but i hope it's not bitwigged either, i think if you can import waveforms and waveshape waves it would be amazing, also another oscillation making it 3xOSC, plus subosc, arp more better, which i love the current arp but if you can tune downwards and upwards on the arp for step sequencing it would be easier than to turn the osc 1+2 semitone up an octave or two to use the arp in a downward motion from root downwards, which right now you have to do this and go C2-C1-C2-C1, ect. rather then set root on ARP C3-C2-G2-C3, ect. I wish it had effects on the BE version, which it's the full version without effects which is what i am using since i programmed presets in beta for the patch contest, i still think it's cool without effects but i wish the above is possible on the arp and waveshaping plus importing single cycle waveforms, lets make this thread a wish+hoping for in DUNE 2 thread, i wish it could have these features inside the next Zampler like Zampler-RX 2, it's engine is similar, it's Synapse Audio's Sampler version of DUNE written for Beat Magazine. I want to say i will be making a bank for DUNE v1.4 when I get the plugin soon, hopefully, then i will import in DUNE 2 to re-program inside DUNE 2, I will also be making them available here for v1.4 but DUNE 2 versions won't be released yet but later this year. what do people think of DUNE currently, do they think it needs anything else, i think it's perfect but I think a GUI update would be nice.

It can sound tight, I tried it on the demo the other day. Just get rid of all the parameters that make it sound lush and wide, a simple saw init patch will do, and one has to use the equalizer a lot, which like in Kilohearts' One seems to be intended as a key sound design feature, not just for making minor adjustments.

The sound of v2 will be similar to Antidote. I read somewhere, probably even on KVR, that Dune 2 will be based on an adapted version of Antidote's sound engine.
