Cold Fusion for Korg PolySix - two new banks of presets for Korg PolySix.
Intro price: $9.98 per bank! No code necessary.

When the first hardware PolySix was released in 1981 it had some stiff competition.
It followed on the steps of the Prophet 5, Oberheim OB-Xa, and Roland Jupiter 8.

It offered a great, thick sound, had first class modulation effects on board with an arpeggiator and 6 voice polyphony.

The newer software version adds 32-voice polyphony and up to 16-voice unison settings, allowing for stunning, thick sounds.

In many ways, the PolySix stood out for its great sounding filters and warm analog oscillators.

The sound was instantly recognizable and heard in the music of Jean Michel Jarre, Robert Rich, Kitaro, Keith Emerson, Tears For Fears and other great artist of the time.

So many developers have released emulations of synths from the 80s, but very few are the original hardware developers.

Korg did a fantastic job of releasing the original PolySix in a software version.

It stands as one of the fattest, most analog emulations ever released and also one of the most affordable.

Cold Fusion is two new banks of presets for Korgs PolySix soft-synth.

The focus is rich pads, absolutely fat basses, classic Apegs and ethereal keys.

Cold fusion takes advantage of all the upgraded features of the new PolySix including the 16-voice unison and outstanding modulation effects.

It will be available briefly at a special new release discount price of $19.98 for the two banks and is available NOW.

The 80s pad sounds almost like a string machine ;)

Independently of your patches, does that plugin have aliasing? I thought I heard some noise on several of those audio demos...

I can't find any info here or your website how many patches.. I am guessing since you are saying 2 banks and each one factory is 32 patches, that it's a total of 64?

I will get this without a doubt as the korg stuff is something i'd never get rid of, even if i was on the top of mount everest in a snowstorm, i'd still find a way to use them :hihi:

Your right, it uses very little CPU, cost about as affordable as it gets and sounds truly vintage.
When the hardware version was released, at just under $2000, it was considered a steal with all its capability.

The filters and oscillators are classic analog with that great sounding warm distortion and really fat bass and apegs.
Given the plugin allows for 16-voice unison, you really cant find a fatter, warmer soft-synth.

Two banks equals 62 sounds, each bank quickly loads as if loading a single preset (you had to load from tape originally).

The plugin version is remarkably close in character to the original hardware.
Unlike many emulations of hardware (including sampled), this PolySix did not loose its punch.

Korg did a great job on all the Legacy synths.

Does PolySix produce aliasing?

No more then other plug-ins and likely less then sample based Romplers.

PolySix offers true analog filters and oscillators which will produce some distortion but not enough to be problematic (and many consider aesthetic sonically).

Often what is confused for aliasing as experienced over the Internet can be many things involved with the playback of compressed audio including the compression itself, speakers, and other elements related to the on-line experience.

I would suggest getting the PolySix demo and trying it if you don't already have it.
That will give you a first hand experience with the plugin.
Personally, I think you might find it sounds great. :)

There is a demo? :) I have looked on those two Korg sites several times in the past, but never saw any demo. That is why I never heard those plugins myself, didn't want to spend 50 bucks just like that.
Actually, I would like to test both the Polysix and the MonoPoly as they should be similar, at least in software.

Yes, you can demo the whole Legacy Collection.

They are all good synths, lots of fun and updated to the newest OS.
Hard to buy just one when they are all so good. :)

Both the Polysix and the MonoPoly are uniquely different.
Both bring something good to the table.

Then you have the M1 and WaveStation.
Both include all the original RAM/ROM banks/"Expansion cards".

Then you have the MS-20.
All are 64-bit compatible which is nice...
We also have some very cool new presets coming for these very shortly. :)

I simply can't find the demo versions :? Where did you get them from?

No problem, I had the same problem when I first went looking.
I will PM you shortly with the info.

Let me know what you think. :)

Glad to spark those memories.

The PolySix is one of those great truly vintage synths that stands out with its own unique sound.

Its interesting how it still stands up under the test of time.
Also the plugin has some of the fattest bass I have every heard from any synth.

TheoM wrote:Hi there, how long is the intro price active for. Of course you are entitled to price these at a million dollars if you like, but if you don't mind some advice from a customer's point of view, i really don't think the price should be raised from $20 for 62 patches. That should be the standard price. Would also take the pressure off as i need to get some other stuff this weekend

But seriously, please consider this.. If not, of course it's your business, it's just a personal thought i wanted to convey :)
The sale price will continue for January and thanks for the feedback, I believe the regular price will be slightly less then a mil. :)
