I cannot figure this out. If I select a phrase and use the back slash, nothing happens.

It seems like it is supposed to split a phrase into two equal parts. Is this what it does and is it working for anyone?

Make sure your rhythmic division is set to something LESS than bar (if the phrase is only a bar long).

It works for me, and I'm on the latest version. It's worked on every version since 2.5.

Chris ... can you be explicit about what it does? Splits the phrase into 2 equal parts down the middle?

I think I know my problem ... well, this one anyway :hyper: ... I've been trying to use it on phrase generators.

It probably only works on regular or rendered phrases, right?

Yes, it works on regular phrases, but you need to set the time pointer first to the split point, then press backslash...

Aah ha!

Got it. Missed the point about setting the 'time pointer' ... which I assume means the little figure at the top of the vertical line indicating playback position.

Yes, playback position is what I meant...sometimes I am confused about how to call this vertical line...
