This has been nagging me for some time. I thought i will have to do something about it. I am on SX2.2 these days.
The problem is this....
For some time now i have been using standard midi program change messages for changing the sound of VSTis within a track. This is a slow process and i try to avoid it as much as possible by bouncing down to audio, if i feel i have to use a new sound from an existing VSTi. This runs in to problems when the program is taken from the generic storage that most VSTis work with these days (ie. they don't use the of the GUI). There must be an easier way than having to go to the list editor having established what program number to work with. I thought there may be two other ways to get the same requirement performed:
1. VSTi Automation of the track
2. Using multiple midi tracks on the same VSTi that have the appropriate program selected for each track.
I have attempted to have a go at 2 but the same sound always ends up on all midi track.
What are everybody's expriences?
