Hello all,
Steinberg is proud to announce that today we have released Cubase iC Pro for Android!
This is our first Android app, so we are very excited about it.
The app is available on Google Play and the Amazon App Store. To complete the installation an extension must be bought from our online store and its license has to be activated on the eLicenser Control Center.
Best regards,
GN

Two things...
First:
Wow - finally the Android platform is being handled. So definitely a good move.
On second thought:
The financial part works the other way around this time. At first I was like "The funk? Android users have to bleed for the Mac users?", until I found out that in case of the iOS App, you pay 15EUR directly in the app store and the "ski" connection software for the Mac is free. In case of the Android App - the App is free, but you pay for the remote extention.
Both cost 14,99EUR
Only that the authoring is different.
Need to check out the demo first. How well this all integrated with each other. And if it's even working with my HTC HD2.
Questions regarding the demo:
Does this need the USB eLicenser or is it Soft eLicenser?
And can the demo license be renewed in case it's not working on my Android device (yet), but I want to test it at a later state with a different device?
Else... good job this time around.

Hello,
Regarding your questions.
It is soft-eLicenser based.
As there are many different Android devices we have created the trial period so that users can test and make sure the iC Pro works properly with their device before purchasing.
The trial is not for the device but for the computer.
You can install the app on many different Android devices, as you can see the app on the Google Play shop is free, what needs to be activated is the license in your computer.
Best regards,
GN

So to clarify... the "free Android" version is to actually test the program (if it is even running on the device). The "demo" connection software (remote exention) is considered to be working on every PC. Sounds fine to me.
Soft Elicenser licenses can be moved to the USB elicenser. Which is common knowledge. But good to know where we start.
What remains is the question - should it not work for me (in any form whatsoever - I mean, I need to test the connectivity somehow), can the demo period of the "Remote Extention" be renewed at a later state if I get in touch with the support?
Thanks.

Hello,
I guess there is a work around, but you will have to contact support.
Best regards,
GN
If you try it in a new computer it will. Because a demo license can only be used once per eLicenser or Soft-eLicenser.What remains is the question - should it not work for me (in any form whatsoever - I mean, I need to test the connectivity somehow), can the demo period of the "Remote Extention" be renewed at a later state if I get in touch with the support?
