Tracks can be offset in time but not clips AFAIK. So that would have to be done manually ATM I fear...

Well, I guess that would have to be a FR after release then...

Then how could Studio One achieved this kind of plugin?

Hehhehe ;-)

What I was saying is, that no DAW can compensate what you are playing live, since in that case it would have to know beforehand what and when you are going to play it.

Having a latency setting or even an automatic measurement as in S1 sounds like a good FR to me.

All clear now? ;-)

what were the plans on vst 3 support?
JamWide - a cross-platform Ninjam client for DAWs

Post

AFAIK it's on the list, but I don't know with what priority and if it will be in 1.x or later.
Supporting it makes sense, especially for note expression, but on the other hand nobody seems to really like VST3 so there's hardly any 3rd party synth - if any? - actually using the features...
I guess Steinberg messed that one up for good. ;-)

VST 3 support does not automatically mean note expression works.

I do think out of any "subjective flaws" (things not there yet in 1.0) that Thomas talked about so far, that particular one will be the one that will set places like GS on fire. Some of the relative complaints about it will be legit and mature and reasonable and hopeful, as some have expressed here that way, but it's such an easy target it will be a pretty huge bullseye for anyone actively looking to bash on it.
Damn. What else is Bitwig missing? Multi VST Outs seem to be a pretty basic thing, no? I use them mostly with NI Maschine and other drum plugins.

I'm also interested in whether note fx / expressions are implemented with VST expressions in mind, and thus support VST3 plugins with note expresssions, or whether they have rolled their own system here. The posters above me make it sound as if VST3, and VST note expressions are not supported?

Post

They had Note Expression before VST3 was out or even announced, so ATM it's for their internal instruments only. I guess if at one point in time there are more than the Steinberg instruments supporting Note expression, it will be a natural thing for them to implement - so far I know of none.

No VST 3 support ATM. Which is as far as I can see without any major relevance anyway?

Multi-Out VSTs are high on the priority list I'm told and since their Drum Machine already supports multi-out, I can't imagine it taking too long. But I'm just guessing here.

And now our daily mantra: Give it time, all will be well, until then, use what works for you...
Ommmmmmmmmmm....

Totally unrelated: Yesterday evening there was a sharp bang, a little smoke and my trusty Presonus Firebox was history. I wasn't even using it at that moment, it was just on.
I guess one of the electrolytic capacitors went suicidal...

Shit.

Not funny at all. Looks like kindergarten.
I am looking for relevant information regarding the thread, and all the cat junk you put here does not help at all, I believe I am not the only one who is annoyed by it.
