Actualy, what is about those beat tools like in live, like start clip in one bar etc, also for DJ purpose? Is that in?

Hi Thomas,
Normally, I am not all that interested in the included instruments with a host, but since the note expression only is available for included instruments, I'm curious about the capability of the polysynth. I've seen very little explaining its featureset. If you have the inclination, a quick overview would be appreciated.

I've looked at the polysynth image, but it leaves lots of questions. For example:
What Osc waveforms are there? The shape control looks like a constant blend between Saw on one end and what else?
Under Sync it says 'R'... What does that mean?
There is an Osc Unison. But there is no indication of a unison detune. Unison seems hardly of any meaning without detune control.
Each Osc has no gain control, so it appears it is not possible to have a different amp envelope on each Osc.
Osc's have no individual panning. The Polysynth is mono and not stereo?
There appears to be no PWM unless maybe that is a PW control underneath the Shape control.
The Polysynth appears to be rudimentary...

Well, for now its enough of a synth for me..one can extend it when the modular system comes out..i know it takes some time..but it`s a v1 release so i`m ok with that..

You can already extend it with additional LFO'sSuloo wrote:Well, for now its enough of a synth for me..one can extend it when the modular system comes out..i know it takes some time..but it`s a v1 release so i`m ok with that..
Is there an Envelope device? Is there some sort of multi-segment envelope device? The image of the devices on the bitwig site is terribly out of date.
I'm okay with it because I have to be... but it is a disappointment considering Surge has Unison detune, Ring Mod, Osc FM, etc etc... The Osc in the Polysynth looks like a simplified version of the 'classic' osc from Surge.
I wonder what the FX insert does on the Polysynth?

The other end of the Waveform is a Square.
The Oscillator is rather complex, since you can modify (and modulate) the pulsewidth and the sub-pulsewidth independendtly. Everything you do is shown in the display, so you know what's going on not only audibly (Sync too).
What the R does I actually don't know. I can't hear/see a difference.
The Unison works as expected, when it's set to a higher value with the setting below (1v to 16v) you can detune the voices with the knob above. Not sure what you are missing there?
Yeah, some things are "missing", but what is there sounds very good to my ear and since it is modular, you have to rethink some concepts. It's light on CPU, so for your above scenarios I would just add more layers with an Instrument layer. Or layer it with the Organ and the FM synth and you can go in the direction of maybe not Zebra but not too shabby either.
Add additional modulators and FX into the slots and I'd say you can create some mighty beasts...
OSC FM is there as well. No Ring Mod as far as I can see, but I will not miss it much (doesn't do much for me anyway).
I'd say, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Why not be curious instead of angry about something you will be able to try out soon enough?
