I recently posted a free SR-202 drumkit made from the bleeps, bloops, clangs and noises of my big analogue modular system. At Bluedad and Krim's request, I re-patched those samples and more for Kontakt, NNXT, SF2 and HALion formats...just extract the folder from the rar file onto your C drive and the samplers will know where to look for the samples. If you put them somewhere else, you will need to redirect the sampler...

Get 'em here:

And now I've added an RMIV version:

Thanks a lot for these nice bleeps and blops.

Very cool. For a recent piece in an electroacoustic music class I used an E-MU modular sampled/mangled in FLStudio and Kontakt so I know exactly what kinda killer stuff you can get out of those monsters.

Has anyone else used an E-Mu modular? want to compare sound design stories?

No...But I still have my EML 200 modular..great for bleeps and blops and atmospherics. I now trigger it with my Yamaha CS5 analog synth. It has some weird modules in it like an "electronic switch" which allows you to bring in two signals with a timer gate. Wierd ryms unfold.

EDIT: I forgot to thanks Scott for the wonderful samples; SO THANKS!!

I've only seen (and heard) an E-MU in action...never patched one myself. Neat machine. Patrick Gleeson and Zappa both put that particular modular to great use, as did the Residents.

The modular used here was made by Roger Arrick (www.synthesizers.com). A great sounding modular, for a reasonable price. Everything is hand made by a very small company and the craftsmanship really shows.

I will employ the sequencers (I have two sequencer modules) to create some freebie ACID and Apple Loops next...

My buddy, Zon Vern Pyles (A famous sound designer...users of the Nord line know his patches) did a wonderful album called "Earthzone" using an EML modular. It was a cool synth!

Thanks Scott will try to use these in my next tune I make with my new Ion which does some good bleeps and gurgles. Of course that may be from my inexperience at programming. 8)

Thanks for the samples, Scott.

There's a generosity amongst digital musicians that's hard to beat..

Nice one, Brice! Glad to see that these are of use to others besides myself...I am a nut for electronic percussion, and am always using synths for drums. It probably comes from the days when I had only a tiny SH-09 and a Moog Rogue with which to make music.
