Hi lulukom,
Music theory is not my strong point so my explanation may not be entirely accurate; however, as I understand this feature Black will indicate the chord is in the chosen key while Red indicates it is not. I only see the Blue when I hover my mouse over the chord. I assume it changes to blue to indicate your mouse is at that location and is ready to be selected to make a change.
In his tutorial vids, #2, Chris Caulder speaks briefly about this. About 9:47 in he mentions this.

Sometimes I find out of key chords add color to a song. Great for building tension or excitment in a series of phrases. It's fun to experiment
Don't forget also that you can change the key of song at each chord by right clicking on the chord and adjusting the key in the pop up. This adds even more excitement to a song.
