One keyboard one iPad and one PC – Now what

Hello,
My PC-W7/iPad Air set-up includes a small Qwerty Bluetooth keyboard that I use primarily for the PC but would like to be able to toggle between using it for the PC and then for the iPad. The Keyboard is charged by USB but the USB does not transmit any data.
The iPad lightning port is connected to the iConnectMIDI2+.
One idea was to add a USB hub from the lightning port. Disable the built-in iPad Bluetooth. Connect the iConnectMIDI2+ and insert the Bluetooth dongle. When I want to use the PC I would remove the dongle and insert it into the PC. I hope that there is a better way
My thinking is that there are many keyboard shortcuts on the iPad and want to take advantage to help my work flow. I have just begun to use the iPad so am prematurely barking up the wrong tree?

Ok I confess I started the above thread.
One keyboard one iPad and one PC – Now what
Perhaps prematurely. No, for sure prematurely!
I should have mentioned:
I will be using the iPad Air primarily as a midi keyboard controller.
I should have first asked:
Are there iPad apps that have Keyboard shortcuts that can
help the workflow. I will be using an external physical keyboard.
In other word can an external keyboard help the workflow.
If yes than the OP will make sense.

Is the only answer is to get a second perhaps smaller qwerty keyboard for the iPad?
But then again how many iPad midi controller apps use keyboard shortcuts.
I have Seline Ultimate, Sound Prism Pro, Animoog and a few other midi apps and I cannot recall ever seeing any keyboard shortcuts. Do any iPad midi apps use them?
Please help.

Me thinks you answered your own question.Kalamata Kid wrote:how many iPad midi controller apps use keyboard shortcuts. [...] I cannot recall ever seeing any keyboard shortcuts. Do any iPad midi apps use them?
GUI design for touchpads and traditional screen + mouse / keyboard is different. Touchpads make keyboard shortcuts unintuitive. Not that much pad users have them

Nanostudio offers keyboard shortcuts (probably since it comes with a desktop version as well).

There is at least one app that uses shortcuts. Perhaps some more will follow.Spiritos wrote:Nanostudio offers keyboard shortcuts (probably since it comes with a desktop version as well).
There probably are a few iPad shortcuts not related to the music apps that I can use. Just found this:

In any case I have the small qwerty keyboard right next to the iPad for DAW and VST shortcuts which was my original intent. In this case it has become very useful a larger keyboard with bigger keys would be great it would interfere with my setup.
BTW at the bottom not shown in the photo above I have a full qwerty keyboard with all the Cubase shortcuts glued on it. I slide it out when needed. If you noticed I also have the Shuttle Pro2 which was offered for free. The price was right so I took it! Works great.
Thanks all for your help.

this is a more inclusive shot of my studio.
scroll down to see the qwerty keyboard with the Cubase shortcut stickies on it.
It slides in when not needed.
The monitors are on a hinge and can be moved in to make space upfront.
the iConnectMIDI2+ is on top near the center.
All done for the sake of workflow.
Now to make music!

Hello,
If I can find an iPad app or keyboard shortcut to disable/enable blue tooth.
And If I can find an app or a shortcut for the PC to enable/disable Bluetooth it would work.
A few extra steps but I can live with it.
Since presently the keyboard it the only Bluetooth hardware I have it should work.
Any idea where I can find these apps or shortcuts?

I should have done this before and at least eliminated the Bluetooth on/off toggle as a way of accomplishing the dual use of a Bluetooth qwerty keyboard.
Once the Bluetooth is turned off and then turned on the whole process of discovery is required so there can never be a Bluetooth on/off toggle button.
If the need ever comes up and there are useful qwerty keyboard shortcuts then I will get an even smaller Bluetooth keyboard and pair it with the iPad. Such is life!
