Hello there, no it shouldn't do. I'm investigating this right now. What OS are you on? Are there any (roughly) repeatable steps you can do to cause the dropouts?

that bug usually happens to me when i load a new sample.

OS X 10.8.5
logic proX 10.0.6

Problem also seen on my system

Win 8.1
Ableton Live 9.1.1

I'll play around with it later to see if I can figure out a way to reproduce it reliably. For now I'll just say I'm on Windows 7 x64 running Reaper x64.

OK, I fixed a potential divide by zero in the grain engine that may fix this.

Also just posted my first experiment with tempo-synced LFOs working, they're lots of fun!

To think it started life as a guitar!

Sounding fantastic widdershins. Looking forward to the update.

Hi widdershins!
This is definitely one cool looking app and the videos on youtube showcase the tool quite well. I do have one question: is there a mechanism, either through modulation or DAY automation, to select the position of the grain as a sound progresses? Towards the end of the 8m video you got some very interesting timbral changes while sustaining notes and clicking on different sections of the guitar sample.

The ability to sweep regions as well as abruptly jump between locations would be ideal, along how the path is retriggered (mono, poly, free-running) I think would differentiate this product in the granular market even more.

Keep up the good work and good luck on getting your own forum here!

You can indeed alter the grain start position in the ways you describe. It can be automated within the DAW and and also within the plugin (envelopes, LFOs, velocity etc - any of the available modulation types). Every modulation source is polyphonic; I don't believe mono or free-running modulation is possible at the moment. The modulation works in a similar way to Massive's, so if you've used that you'll be right at home.

Can't recommend this plug-in enough. It's still very alpha (I get the occasional crash here), but this is reflected in the early adopter price. Even in its current state it's still a no-brainer at £19.99 to my mind.

Can't believe I just bought a program that is still in beta, but this thing is such a cool concept, I want to support it from the beginning. Also, I'm impulsive.

Would be good, if the Macros could be labelled/renamed. I just got some heavy clicks when changing grain attack to 0, heavy overloads and then the plugin muted itself. Had to reload it to hear sound again.

Mangling a singing bowl with The Mangle in this little video experiment, got some heavy CPU dropouts at the end but the beginning was fun :) - added some VRoom for more listening pleasure:

Thanks for answering that so thoroughly cron.

Sampleconstruct, I hope that I've fixed your bug in the upcoming release, which I'll release tomorrow (just got to do the final builds & tests).

Great, that was an extremely fast fix then :)

that's great to hear, very important feature IMO...

i bought it because of the cool concept and because i wanted to support the developer, but if tempo-synced LFOs are implemented, this would become a fully-usable instrument on my workflow (and quite a complete product for sale).
