The commenter made a quite valid point. This is nothing but greed on the part of music industry. Its parasitism in its worst form. You should pay for what you use (CD's, mp3's) and not some general tax on for using general computing technology. I see no reason whatsoever why music industry should get to collect some kind of tax and guaranteed income on others' inventions and technology. End of story.

Maybe more sobering for him if it could be established just how many people have his music on a smartphone. Not as many as he thinks I reckon.
