I really enjoy (for the most part - will explain below) designing synth-based percussive (like) sounds and playing them using Turquoise DS.
Each pad of the 3x3 grid is assigned to it's own subtractive synth.
With EDIT PAD selected, tapping any pad automatically switches the synth parameter interface to the one assigned to it; each synth with it's own reverb and delay levels.
A pad's synth settings can easily be copied and pasted to any other pad.
In my opinion the synths are capable of creating a wide range of interesting percussive (like) sounds.
For the most part, editing the synths of each pad is SUPER straightforward and easy.
However, I'd like to see an update that allows the variables to be changed faster.
I think the design aesthetic is great, but I'd love to be able to tap on them, and have something pop up (the iOS keyboard?) so I can quickly type in a variable instead of scrolling through what in some cases seems like a rather huge variable range.
Nevertheless, what REALLY makes Turquoise DS shine (in my opinion) is that; when PRESETS is selected; I can quickly scroll through the presets; of which it appears to me I can create/save as many as I want; and select different ones (with my left hand) as I'm playing the pads (with my right hand).
The combination and design approach of these two ui elements (the PRESET browser/selector and the 3x3 pads) allows for some very expressive playing; especially when one takes the time to thoughtfully design synth sounds and their related presets names so that the sounds produced while playing can be accurately changed/transitioned between (by switching presets) in ways that create a feel of intentionality.
I find the playability of the preset browser/selector very conducive to having a huge range of sound presets that in most cases; when selected sequentially; have only very subtle differences; which is great for creating a feeling of movement or evolution in the overall sound of a performance.
However, that said, I would love to see:
a) an update that either increases or offers a way to adjust the height of the preset selectors - this would allow people with stubby fingers like myself to select them more accurately
and:
b) an update that allows me to reorganize the presets
because - for me - the preset browser/selector is a major part of the performance-oriented functionality offered by Turquoise's user interface
No MIDI, no OSC, and no problem (in that regard) for me.
It's $1.99
That's all; was on my mind so thought I'd share.

I picked it up, but I'm the kind of person who uses virtual midi a lot, and was disappointed to find that there was no virtual midi in/out. If this was added, I'd be really interested!
