It seems that mobile focused keyboards like the irig keys have to be plugged in to the ipad connector that usually charges it.
So how to you plug in iRig keys while the ipad is plugged in?

Resurrecting this thread cause I've been thinking the same lately.
IK multimedia sells this charging device:

Works with any iRig device and should also work with the newest "black" iRig Keys, via micro usb to mini DIN cable I guess (not sure about this). Don't know if it's compatible with third party controllers though.
