Hi, Yellukhan,
in fact I am frustrated by last beta, so I even don't want to check it again

In some moment I even suspected that I caught some virus and made a 2 hours scanning of my comp with no results (fortunately).
Just to give some illustrative example I made a quick capture of main window with one of my draft usual RC-presets.

Hi,

you all are right, the last beta was a disaster. After making substantial changes I wanted to upload an update quickly, and the fact that it was late evening did not help either...
The nasty bug that caused crashes and redraw problems was removed, and a new beta is available (v2.56b7). The Bruckner MIDI file and all others should work well.

Hi there,

Did anyone tried dragging any of the phrases from lib. to arrangement ?
preview and also inserting with short cuts seems fine but i get instant crash on every attempt for all phrases, including the Generators if i drag them to the arrangement.
after crash even Task Manager can't kill the process i have to wait , till RC decides to go

ill do more testing with clearing my AppData and installing again etc.
maybe ill install older betas too...
but wondering , am i only one with this issue?

edit.
i moved to the Picasso

(2.56b5 x64) again and now no problem..
seems something broken in 2.56b7 x64

I've been testing midi import since I downloaded earlier. I'm having no problems with this. Even get the messages about multiple program changes but the import works fine.

I get the same as you yellukhan if I create a new song and try to drop any generators or phrases onto a track. Instant crash; however, so far RC has not hung, causing a start of task manager.

Oddly, if I first import a midi, I can drop progressions on the track. (Otherwise, get instant crash if trying to add a progression to a clean track). But even with midi import first I cannot drop phrases or generators on the track without instant crash.

So far all else seems to be working here.

That's why their called betas

Summing up, it seems that b7 is still "medium rare"?
In fact I just returned home and didn't check last beta yet...

Sorry for any confusion I may have created T.

I'll try to clarify;

If I create a new compositon I cannot drop any of the generators or phrases from the libray without instant crash.

However, if I create a new composition and then import a midi file all is good. Then I can drop a chord progression (from the "Progressions" library) onto the timeline. All is still good. So I "Add" a midi track. Still good.

But then if I attempt to drop a phrase or generator on this new track (or even on the original track), RC instantly crashes. Actually it crashes if I attempt to drop from any of the libraries (Scales, Chords, Progressions, Phrases).

So it seems that midi import is working well now. I have been able to change chords (from the pallatte) on the imported midi but any other manipulation seems to crash RC.

I hope this is more clear now

Absolutely! Music composers/musicians are the most creative and funniest people that I have ever worked with!

A new beta is uploaded, v2.56b8 if you can still follow it

The problem is that reworking a low-level part affected lots of functions.
Dragging anything to the composition should not crash anymore. I don't expect that any serious problems remained. Though it is a good idea to save the last working beta, just in case...

P.S. But I really wanted to test my lovely Bruckner's file...Oops, sorry again!

tolstoevsky, do you mean there is still an issue with importing that file? It worked for me...

- I checked Bruckner's strings and they are playing almost like Wienna Philarmonic

Dragging phrases works also without any glitches.
