Im looking for a program that lets me put slicer markers in a sample and then saves the slices as individual wav samples named for instance samplename1, samplename2, etc. What audio editing programs are there that can do this?

Hi there

If you want a VST then our Dicer plugin allows you to split samples into slices and then can automatically save this slices to disk as slice00, slice01 .. , it can do lot of other things also and is quite cheap as well, more info at http://www.concretefx.com/Dicer.htm

PS Sorry about the self promotion :)

Phat does, drag and drop.

but last time I tried the samples where not clean.

ie: they never sounded the same as when they where being played in Phat with the envelopes.

dunno if they fixed it, but exported wavs from Phat always was Glitchy.

I could guess that it was never fixed given the low level of customer support this product received from the mac loving devil child dev. :D

ooh, dicer does look good, insanely cheap
from the word,
excellent support!
why don't I have this already?!

The envelopes in PhatPro were fixed, but no clue about the effect on saved wavs as I am very much in the MIDI realm with PhatPro

Dicer looks really nice, and I need to check out recycle. Doesnt wavelab slice? What I really need is an sudio editor that can record audio and then slice it up.

Hi

Recycle will chop up whatever you put into it - you can manually chop a loop up if you like or automate it.

Recycle does sound very clean and the wav files it outputs sound like carbon copies of the original source material.

The real jewel in the crown though is a new program called 'Solo' by AMG which has just been released (with a further enhanced version due out soon)- other than wave files you can also save your sliced files in Recycle as REX files - which can be loaded into 'Solo' and played back in your host (along with lots of modulation, filtering ect) - 'solo' is a vst so this further enhances Recycles utility value.

Flipper.

Nobody mentioned Zero-X Beat Creator which is more powerful than Recycle, easier to use, and costs a fraction. It can do better than sample001, sample002, it allows you to type useful names for each slice completely by key commands extremely fast and efficient then save to a multitude of formats including simple separate waves and even combinations of formats like midi/sf2 and others. I count it as one of my very best applications.

PhatmatiPro save the raw file without effects.

If you have NI battery you can drag and drop slices directly to Battery, very nice indeed.

Anything similar and really, really cheap to do these tasks for Mac? Not so much a beat slicer, but quick multiple-wav/aiff-export options that are easily catalogued.
