I thought you meant Polysix ;-)

Maybe the OP want to consider Legacy Cell as well, as it can produce great sounds by combining any two (or just one of them) of Polysix and MS 20 with two additional effects. I love MS 20 sound, but I don't know yet how to use the modular system with it. Legacy synths look very small in my laptop.

Well, I hope the 27" monitor will come soon so I enjoy tweaking/learning and doing some presets in the legacy synths.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I love Mono/Poly. It is my go-to synth.

I don't use MS-20, because the GUI is horrible. Even back when it came out, it was stupid to have to scroll horizontally like that.

I don't use Polysix, because Mono/Poly can do everything it can do and sounds identical. Load up Mono/Poly with a saw and a square transposed by -1 oct and you will see it is exactly the same as Polysix plus sub osc. The filter sounds very similar too.

The Mono/Poly is truly one of the great synths. Not so popular, and very few decent sound banks around for it, but the sound is smooth, rich and gorgeous. Luckily it is incredibly easy to program. Also has very versatile arp with the original oscillator cycling option, loads of good effects, great filter etc.

I owned the original hardware as well and this can exactly replicate all the old grating cross-modulated nastiness.

Can't speak highly enough of it. I'm a huge Omnisphere fan, but the Mono/Poly still has a place for me that Omni can't fill.

That whole Legacy collection is great.
+1

The GUIs are a bit small for my old eyes, but other than that they are indeed great.

Korg did a great job with the whole series.

Its funny, there are so many new synths that try to emulate the old hardware but few do it better then the Legacy series.

Second demo is more interesting though.
Here's some EDM type sounds.
Keep in mind this soundset has 128 sounds of various genres and no drum or sound fx types, and only 5 arps. So there's a lot more than just these audio demos.

Here's some EDM type sounds using the LegacyCell for comparison.

This soundset will also have the soundsets in a dry (no fx) version and a wet version.
None of my sounds in this set use modulation type effects.
It's been almost a year of work on this. Not something rushed.

A new Mono/Poly soundset and sounding very promising! Any ETA on a release date ?

Good to see MonoPoly getting some praise. For $49, it's a steal. Definitely an excellent compliment to Sylenth in any EDM production rig.

I think thats something many don't realize, the Mono/Poly as well as ALL the Korg Legacy synths are very affordable.

At $50 a pop (M1, PolySix, Mono/Poly, etc.) you cant beat em.

They are also some of the best re-makes of hardware and some of the only done by the original manufacturer.

They do sound like the originals.

Not sure. At least another month.
I've got about 45 more sounds to make within Legacy Cell, and it's done.
It'll be
128 sounds for Monopoly
128 sounds for Legacy Cell
96 sounds for MS20
96 sounds for Polysix.
The dry sets will only be using eq, compression, and some using the exciter, but no modulation effects (chorus/flanger etc) . No distortion, or that voice modulator either.

I agree. I can't believe they've put out all these ipad synths and done all kinds of cool stuff, even updated tehse legacy synths to 64bit, yet have left that tiny ridiculous scrolling gui for the MS-20. How hard can it be to just widen the window? I bet they'd get more sales too.

The only way I could stand to use the MS-20 was with the MS-20 controller.

To be honest GUI isn't problem to me, I'm trying to make an inquiry if I can get quality sounds in Reason (I want to buy R7 as they offer Korg synths for free now). I need to know if I can resemble those powerful sylenthish sounds there.
But after extensive demoing I realized that Thor in Reason is just the best for almost everything... It can be gritty, aggressive, it has very snappy and "springy" envelopes but I think it can be smooth as well... It does supersaws so well! For comparison supersaws in Zebra sounds a bit "metallic" no matter what, while in Thor they are so fluffy and clear, wow! I have that feeling that I can do in Thor everything that I can do in Korgs and it will sound even better, it makes them kinda useless... Holy sh*t, there are just too many good synths out there...

too bad the korg stuff can only be used on 1 pc....

Maybe you'll consider (or are already planning to) split the sets per synth?

I'm not going to split them, but the price will be very low, so it really won't matter.
Besides one might later on decide to get the other synths, then those sounds might be of use.
The Legacy Cell is better in both sounds and function imo.
It's really the MS20 that makes it so.

Hmmmm, I have them installed in two laptops without a problem, but one has windows and the other has OSX partition.
I did obtained the second license by going to their website (Korguser.net) and reissue a license. I don't know how many times I can do that though! So, at least it is for two times installations
