And I think that it looks professional and classy.....so there's two differing opinions already. You and I both know how KVR can be when it comes to skins.....just look at PolyAna as a prime example.

Sure, it looks professional, modern, which is what I don't like so much :)
I like Antidote's GUI more...

As much as I like PolyAna's sound, the user interface is off-putting.

And that's the task at this point.....to make sure DUNE 2's interface is not off putting..... :)

Show me a great gui and i'll show you someone who thinks its crap. Being able to change the background and knobs is a great addition. (Especially for ppl who like to greyscale everything  )

As for converting presets and banks....why would you? They still work in V1, and both run side by side. Pointless exercise.

Anyway, as it is it will prob take an extra month, as no two ppl can agree on current gui suggestions

How about considering just focusing on patches first for a quicker release if the engine is complete, then release skinable version as Dune 2.1 a month later? I'm sure thats been considered but just thought I'd throw that out there, all the same I'd still prefer skinnable gui for some extra skins to change it up every once in a while, even if it takes a month longer, and maybe add some more good presets meanwhile for the release.

There are a ton of presets for V.1 but the patch loading and management in v.1 is one of the few down sides of an otherwise fabulous synth. I think there is some hope of v. 2 having better patch management--hence, the desire to see v.2 versions of the old patches.

I think I got that right--alot of the word "version" in there. :D

If there are 8 layers, like I hear, what's the CPU hit? Lush has 8 chewy layers and can do major CPU hits.
DUNE 2 - I hope the architecture is more like a Virus, because I really think it could get close. I need two separate filters with balance.
I'd also like a separate phaser from the chorus.
Arp- no more tuning in cents.... Maybe a steppy thing. Z3ta+ is the gold standard for arps because you can load midi...(hint, hint)
I can't wait to hear it after hearing the Antidote videos...
(I also like its GUI very much)

There are 8 layers in V1.....

everything else you listed is pretty much in V2 i think.

patch management is the same as V1, never had a problem with it, but i dont use presets...

I think Patch management is fine. I haven't played with DUNE in awhile, I know it has separate banks, but doesn't it also separate the presets into Bass, Lead, Pads, etc...? I like that.

No, it's not. Patch management is much better in version 2. Patch categories are still in DUNE 2.

V1 did that...as long as each patch was programmed as a BASS/LEAD etc catagory...

looks the same to me...soundbank/patch

its not like some other synths that have bank/type/author etc etc in the tool bar

basically you either load a bank, or a patch, same as V1 (tho you can have more than the original 3 banks in a folder, but thats by the by, its still the same method)

It's not the same. See Rich's quote on the Beta forums. This addresses the patch handling complaints of version 1.

Let's not have a senseless argument here. Let's take it to the Beta forum.
