I'm usually not into national anthems, but this just gave me a massive chill!
If these were really 1000 students - wow!
Why can't something like this be happening (more) in Germany? Such flashmobs only seem to be happening other countries only. (and there is no chance to find out when and where the next mob is happening! And some are at least happening in Berlin, like from the "Staatsballet" at the Main Train Station/Lehrter Bahnhof).
One of the many reasons why I'm all for traditional music classes (incl. learning old folk songs to keep them alive). Something that turned really rare over here - due to "ethnical diversity" and negligence of music as culture in general.
EDIT:
And apparently, my hometown is also not save of such flashmobs:
That is Nuremberg, at the "Weißer Turm" (white tower), one of the main entrances to the historic district, and the shopping mile of this town. Would that have happened in Munich (central), these musicians would have gotten a ticket for an unannounced performance.

Been on a Plaid and Ae binge recently, then finally I managed to find this old track that used to be one of my faves.

I'm no country fan, but I watched Girth Brooks perform for Jay Leno's final show and really enjoyed it.
He sang The Dance and Friends In Low Places, but he's got a great voice and it helped that these are two favorite songs. Also, it wasn't so much a performance as it was he and his band just jamming on some tunes.
It was great!
