What more would I get if I purchased Cubasis compared to Garageband? I'm an oldtime pc-sequencer user since dos-times and sometimes the Garagebands logic is weird. What about the instruments that comes with Cubasis? Particularily "normal" stuff like pianos, basses and drums?

you get more functionallity but you loose quite some money - and things aint easy atm...
right now i feel i waisted good money!!!

I could never get the hang of Garagband either due to it's own logic but I love Cubasis.
Essentially Cubasis is a true mini-DAW and feels quite familiar. Along with Nanostudio I think it's the best for iOS (never tried Auria or Beatmaker though).

With Cubasis you get insert/send/master FX, flexible MIDI-editting and inter-app audio -all of which Garageband hasn't.

The instruments that come with Cubasis are a bit average but becuase of the inter-app audio it's very easy to use other iOS-instruments. Since the last update Cubasis has the Micrologue synth. I'm not really into synthesis but I like Sunrizer and Cassini better.

There's something of an advantage if you're actually a Cubase user. Projects that you make in Cubasis can be imported directly into Cubase to take ideas further, and that makes it a worthwhile purchase imho.

That's what I like about it too.
If you use Cubase then Cubasis makes the most sense.
It has a few idiosyncrasies but all in all I like it :)

i doubt this - version 1.7.1 does NOT work well for many users - Steinberg reps keep rather quiet at their own forum too. some very strange workflow issues ( playback stops upon every undo action / you have to restart playback in order to take velocity changes into account etc ).
for close to €50 one can expect some more polish and devotion ( at least in my books )
ymmv
