Very nice Moe dude, I must point out that despite the barrage of telecaster pictures I posted, It is far from my choice of guitar personally. I'm the typical
super strat on steroids type of metal goon especially when having either an extended scale and/or more than six strings. Just a clichéd knuckle dragging
ape-like creature. The Tele is too pretty for a neanderthal man as cursed as I am.
I do admire them though :D

All the best your way

I've owned several Samick's over the years. I've owned them before they aquired the Valley Arts name Durning the Valley Arts period and now during the Greg Bennet time. I've got a Greg Bennet "Fastback" Which is the precursor to the Avion (les paul) It's been a great guitar for me.

My 2nd favorite Samick

It gave out on me after ten years. During those then years I was a gigging jazz guitarist. I made good coin with that thing. But I hated playing it while standing. Boxes like that are very hard to tame especially as they age. It creaks it rattles and it howls like mad. If you go for the cheesy solution of stuffing foam rubber into the body it loses alot of the tone.

This was my favorite Samick of all times

But again it was lost in the great burglary.

Dude is that really you playing that jazz? Great walking bass, man. I guess I just lucked out, finding this Torino on Craigslist. It's just what i realized i always wanted. Something about that SG body style appeals to me, and Greg Sage played one with that style. I may start collecting guitars that look like SGs.

That's not me.

You want the face shot?

This is me

That being said I used to play jazz just like the video guy. Although slightly streamlined. When your in a jazz band as a guitarist for the most part your roll is just playing comping chords behind the pianist. And you don't get to do those pretty walking basslines+ chords because there is already a bassist.

Re walking bass/guitar.

Watch this guy he explains how it works better then I.

The add on is that I'll actually throw in a "common" walking bassline focusing on the arpeggio.
Try it once with anything that has a bunch of chords in it and you'll be hooked for life.

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that. Small issues that add up to major problems. Give me giant frets every time, they bring so much good and solve so much bad.

The rondo tele has giant jumbos and a flatter neck and ...it's no better. The worst of it was an evh olp. I wanted to love that thing so bad. I spend money hand over fist with techs leveling the frets and it stil crapped out on me.

It's the curse of the maple fretboard. I love the looks of them but not one has ever held up.

Good luck.

I'm going back to my strat plus for awhile. I know I've said it a billion times in this thread. That old beat up strat plays like butter. I should have just bought for a jimmie vaughan pickguard.

bummed it's not working out for you. Hope you get it to your liking.

It's been a heartbreaker for me. I'm keeping it but I'm going to put it off to the side for now. I need to build up my callouses and get used to playing on other guitars....then come back to it.

They smashed the dimensions and curves in this one too,
equal IMO to RG and Fender.
It originally was gloss black, I took it back to natural-
the decided I didn't like it.
One switch was smashed off, so I took it out and epoxied the hole.
I got a really great deal on the Floyd Rose,
it's just generic, but it's 5 star.
The original was missing whammy and the cast iron was shot.
The original fake pearl inlays looked tacky as,
so I masked and sprayed them white.
It don't get much use-
but still love the look of the thing.
Cheers 8D
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

Maybe if I get a surprise extra paycheck, I'd like a guitar with P90's. Probably a TV Yellow Les Paul Jr. (just ugly enough) or maybe a Reverend Jetstream 390.

I've owned a lot of guitars over the years but these are the two I've had the longest and could never let go of: mid-90's American Telecaster and a early 2000's Rickenbacker 330. I got both when I was in high school...I started baby sitting when I was 13, got a job a concession stand in a public park at 14, and was make a lot of money without any expenses (living with parents wasn't so bad!) and bought some nice guitars I can have for a life time 8)

It's a lot harder to buy gear now with a mortgage and bills.

I like the "dentist" green. The LPJ is cool though.

@Samick: Mr nix, looks like you've put quite a bit of time into that. I like flat black, but I would invest in a duster :hihi:
