New version for Delay8 is available. This version, 1.4, has additional input options per delay line (L+R, Mid, Side), better controls for selecting line inputs and tap routings.

Delay8 has eight individual modulated delay lines which may be combined in serial or parallel chains. Individual modulation, EQ, panning for each delay line. Global scaling knobs to adjust the overall character of the effect. Stereo in, stereo out. Good for choruses, diffusion, modulated delays. Windows VST 2.4, x32 and x64.

This plugin is inspired by equipment like the Yamaha UD-Stomp and the Rocktron Intellifex in the way that guitarists, like Holdsworth, set up multiple modulated delay lines for fat choruses.

This is still a work in progress. I'd like to add additional features (longer delay times, synced LFOs, better GUI, better documentation, etc) to improve the usability.

Sweet dude! Sounds nice on guitars (so far)

but yeah, a good BPM syncing is really desirable!

Quick work in live x64 and studio one x64 revealed no issues so far

Hallo Tone Carver,
you have made a really nice delay !
What I miss is a value read out for delay time , HPF and LPF.
BPM Sync and saturation would also very nice.

When I heard the name "Tonecarver", suddenly the term "Boids" appeared in my brain. Then I looked into my plugin folder, and rediscovered your "Boids" plugin...

It's one of the greatest plugins, and it has TONS of modulation possibilities - I don't know how I could forget it... It should have got a prize for the most creative entry at the KVR Contest...

okay, version 1.2 is now available here: Delay8_v1_2.zip

Changes: Feb 16, 2014, Version 1.2
- added LFO Shape Random
- added Tempo Sync delay times
- added Scaling for Delay Time, Delay Feedback, Mod Rate, Mod Depth
- increased delay time to 2 seconds per lane
- added small RMS meter per delay line
- hide controls for lanes that do not have inputs
- bugfix: recompute initial write position when delay time is changed

NOTE: The new Scaling knobs will not be set correctly for any presets that you have saved from earlier versions. To fix the knob settings, load a preset, click the Scaling Reset button, and save the preset. After that it will load correctly.

The presets in the v1_2.zip file have been updated with correct scaling values.
