Hi everybody! I'm writing in another forum (IDMF if you know it) but lurk around here sometimes to. Hopefully I'll have more time to spend here two.
So anyway... I'm thinking about going to study computer / software engineering / computer sciences or something similar and then go work in the audio plugin (Waves, iZotope etc.) or some other audio software company (Ableton, propellerhead etc.). My question is, is there anyone here who is working / used to work in the industry and knows whats going on there in terms of salary, working conditions, amount of average available jobs, is the industry mainly consisted of freelancers or not? or any other useful information?
Another thing is, I'm from Israel and the only company located here (that I know of) is Waves plugins and I don't know what's going on there.
I'd love any info on the subject if anyone has it. It could probably be a good idea as I'm pretty good with math related stuff and I produce electronic music, this could be the best mixture of the two.
Cheers!
the audio plug-in and software industry

Maybe this question would be better suited for the "DSP and plugin Development" sub-forum? Most of the regulars there are plugin devs, albeit mostly freelancers or self-employed i think (or hobbyists).

Thanks for the replies people!
Fese, maybe you're right. Can any of the mods move this thread to the "DSP and plugin development sub-forum" please?
And thanks again people!
