OK I bought Halionsonic today in the Steinberg sale. I have had Hypersonic 2 for many years and never had a problem with the dongle before (for anything) but today, it was working fine until I updated the control centre as the Halionsonic installer required it. Now the dongle with Hypersonic on it is reporting "This dongle is broken" and repair isn't working.

Luckily the only other thing on that dongle was some licenses for the Korg Legacy Collection, which is now no longer needed as they are now CR, and I have 2 others, but the coincidence is bordering on uncanny - not only have I lost the Hypersonic license and dongle but the only thing that could have replaced it is Halionsonic, which luckily also includes a Hypersonic license. Don't know whether to laugh or cry!
