Hi here's a bunch of experimental and hugely deranged patches made with Glitchmachines' buffer effect Fracture:

I will be adding more to this bank over time (34 at the moment)
You can dl Fracture from here if you don't have it already:

An example:

this plugin is great for transforming any sound (here it's a piano) into craziness

Note I made most of these using a piano for input - I like to use simple sounds to start off with for this sort of effect so I can hear the difference most clearly, and so I can interact with the effect as I jam. So I have no idea of how these would sound fed more complex sounds or drums. Some are meant to be played 100% wet, but if you try varying the dry signal mix that can also be interesting.

Anyone else using this plugin? Reminds me a lot of a souped up DFX Transverb, which has for a long time been my favourite buffer type effect.

I've been experimenting with it as a send effects on drum and percussion. It's a bit too crazy to use as an insert to my ears. But it's quite cool to drop in at certain spots burbbling and creating mayhem in the backgound.aMUSEd wrote:Anyone else using this plugin? Just downloaded your presets I'll give them a go later today.

Thanks for the presets
They're as extreme as the plugin itself
Ftm I'm down to 3 "sound manglers" (yeah, I know that's not the right term even in a very loose sense): "Fracture", "Eurydice Legacy" and "Truc 2". IMO these work both for sudden short chaos and/or applied on longer loops/phrases (especially on drums). I know there are others, but there's a thin line between beating the crap out of a sound and still get an usable result and absolute nonsense - and (again, IMO) a lot of other "competitors" cross that line.
But they require a lot of experimenting to obtain interesting results and even then it depends on the source sound.

Yeah I think the source sound is key, what works well one some material sounds dreadful for something else.

I'll accept that this is a rookie question, but where do I put these in Windows so that I can access them in fracture (if you don't mind offering the clueless a clue)? I grabbed them and then got lost looking for the folder.

As it turns out, it was user error. I just discovered Fracture's load preset button. It allowed me to navigate to the presets. Thanks for the reply. I took your advice and placed them in a logical location.

They should go in the same folder as the factory presets - not sure where that is on Windows though. If they are in a subfolder they won't show in the presets dropdown list.

I have no idea where that folder is. I've looked in all of the logical places and all of the obscure places and found no sign of the factory presets. Perhaps I need to use "show hidden files". I''m done looking for them. The navigating to them by clicking the "L" button is a workaround. Again, not a big deal. The plugin is still cool.
