I know this isn't very helpful, but logic has a great physical modeling synth called sculpture. I can play with it for hours, but I don't actually end up using it that much.

For what kind of instrument? For percussion & string stuff I can always recommend stuff from xoxos. Lots of free stuff and some really worthy (cheap) payware that totally rocks. Xoxos percussion bundle comes with Modal, Radian & StarCym.

Sakura is pretty limited and the last few updates have completely changed how some of the patches I made for it sound, plus it's very unstable on my system. I can't really recommend it. Chromaphone and a Sculpture are my favourites right now, and Pianoteq for keys and chromatic percussion. Kaivo coming out soon looks interesting too.
