Decision
Well, this one ended up sounding kind of Alan Parsons, Hall and Oates, Toto, turn of the 80's Genesis... The start is reminiscent of Billie Jean, but since many of the musicians in Jacko's studio setup at that time were members of Toto, see my first sentence...
I used 2xSynth1, 4Front GSyn, Loopazoid, TubiLeSax, Me, EVM Strings, JX220, mda Vocoder, various Classic and SH-1 effects, all lightly roasted in NTrack.
I must apologize for the quality of the vocal.. I'm still trying to find my key..

I've done a bit of work on this to make the vocals sit better, and reduce the harness of the drums.

very 80's indeed, and too much like billie jean. but who can resist, it's such a great riff and groove!
very toto as well.
I like the synth solo's..I hope you played it live.
I can sympathize with finding the right key for vocals; which by the way, might sit just a little better with maybe a tad bit more reverb.

it is *extremely* like Billie Jean at the beginning
but happily moves away a bit.
and yep the vocal seems really upfront compared to the mix on the sax.
what was the VST you used on the lead part?
Am getting so many frosty framed swishing 80's hair moments passing through my minds eye...

The heavily picked guitar is PapelMedia Nylon Guitar SF played by sfz with Classic Flanger
The Sax is TubiLeSax
the synth lead is Synth1 with the SquareLead preset unaltered.
The voice is mine...
I was glad the Billie Jean part goes under the mix too! But it just seemed to work, so I didn't try to disguise it.

Which was shortly followed by Billie Jean. (Who apparently wasn't like a virgin.)
I like the music quite a bit. Don't feel too bad about the vocals. If you heard my vocals, you'd fall to your knees, in tears of pain and suffering. Yeah, my vocals are truly bad. If you aren't satisfied your vocals, then maybe someone could do a guest vocal appearance for you? (Not me, of course.)

Music sounds really good, nice rounded synths.
What I think you could have done was a sort of reacion sequence to the guitar panned a bit to the opposite corner.

OK, I've updated the mix, taking on board what bluedad said, bit more 'verb, I compressed the vox a little more too.

The music is great, very eighties... You should download the demo of Voxengo Voxformer and see what it can do to your vocals in terms of presence and power... worked wonders for me.
