Metallic ringing noise with choir VSTs?

So I got a couple of choir libraries and was practicing playing the with legato patches, and noticed a metallic ringing noise that would show up, usually mid tenor range. I would happen about a 1/4 to 1/2 second after starting the note. I thought it was the library at first, but when trying several different libraries they all had that sound, although some where stronger than others and more pronounced in slightly different key ranges. I tried it in my daw (Reaper) and in kontakt standalone. I tried with several speakers and headphones and it was the same. Then I thought it must be because I only have the onboard realtek soundcard that might be making some artifact. After getting the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, the sound is still there. So now I'm kind of stumped.

Could that just be how the choir is supposed to sound? To my ears it really does not sound like a natural harmonic or anything. Any other ideas on what the sound could be? Maybe it is just my ears have some weird response in that range? Here is a link to a file I rendered of one of the sounds. https://www.dropbox.com/s/41wp7ij8tw88n ... noise.flac
or mp3 version

Edit: I meant to just have the url to the youtube video, not have the embedded player. Anyone know how to get rid of the embedding?

It's indeed noticeable but not so loud that the choir would be unusable. Maybe they put a certain effect on it that makes this metallic sound?

Couldn't it be removed by using a notch filter?

I don't know if we're talking about the same thing here but I often found when softsynths were creating dense broadband sounds, and you're playing chords that bleed into eachother, there'd often be a metallic kinda intermodulation artifact which can't be eliminated by attenuation anywhere in the gain structure.

Personally, for me the effect mostly disappeared with the latest round of VSTs such as those released in the last two or three years. I think it may be some kind of flaw with older audio engines, or maybe it was an auditary illusion, like difference tones. It was very hard to hear or see on a spectrum plot, and sometimes I'd wonder if I was simply losing it.

Post some audio if you can.

Ah, didn't see that, just the youtube clip. I can't play flac files, though, because I suck at computering.

It's pretty easy listening to FLAC files with VLC Media Player, and it costs nothing...

Sorry just wanted to do flac since it is lossless. Added an mp3 version to make it easier. They both have the same sound. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wsdkxd61z9zpu ... 0noise.mp3

I wouldn't think so. Some choirs I tried are Olympus, Requiem, Kontakt Library, and Miroslav, so I don't think they would put any effect on them. And I just loaded the patch with no effects/eq/reverb or anything.

I tried using a notch filter, but in order to get rid of the noise it drastically changed the main choir sound.

I hear not much wrong. Get five mates in your home studio and let them sing "Ooooo" in unison. Record that and play back. You'll then hear the same "ringing" around (I guess) 8kHz. It gives it some brilliance.
So make some music instead of hunting for artifacts.
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Image

Could be a kvr sig or even an album title :D
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Never hunt for artifacts, you might get crushed by a rolling boulder.
