I've made 4 bars with 4 instruments.. Now how to I continue on, adding another 4 bars.
I sometimes can lengthen the piece by grabbing the bar and bottom and sliding.. Seems sometimes it works, other times doesn't.. What am I missing.
Can I copy/paste sections of several instruments? In other words, how do I build up a song with several different sections and repeats..
Sometimes it appears RC doesn't send a note off, before playing a new note. I get this massive chord of tones sounding.. Especially true on importing midi files from Logic.
I'll get these huge 'note clusters' not shutting off. In Logic they play fine, no overhang.
I'm also stuck with the bass generator, it plays one not only but with different rhythms..
Thanx..

Give it time angelo. Once you use a feature a time or two it becomes second nature fairly easy.angelonyc wrote:Thank you, still overwhelmed at the newness of it all.. Only portions at a time are sinking into my old braincells
You'll find the members in this forum extremely helpful too so don't hesitate to ask.
As for copy/paste, yes. If you are on PC it is the standard <CTRL>C (copy) and <CTRL>V (paste). MAC is <CMD>C and <CMD>V.
I have not experienced note on/off problems with RC, but when I have experienced this issue with other programs it is generally due to CC64 (Pedal). If your midi file contains CC64 value greater than 0 it turns on sustain.
My bet is you have deleted the CC64 0 value to turn it off when you did the import and adjusted the midi file in the composition.
I find it best to strip all unwanted data from a midi file before importing. Since you cannot do this in RC you will first have to clean the midi in a DAW that allows you to view/change midi messages. Sonar calls it "MIDI Event Viewer". In this you can remove CC messages/program changes/sysex events, etc.
