I really like the tabbed project browser, and the drag and drop between projects. This is a great idea! I'll be able to take ideas from one project and drop into another way more easily than in Cubase.
Bitwig looks ideal for building up a library of sounds this way. Just save instrument racks and have them easily available in each project. I don't know about you guys, but one of the things I find most annoying is keeping track of all my sounds, both synth patches and samples.

same here, and media bay in cubase is kinda awful to work with. Really hoping to be able to leave cubase until the end of the year..

5 times more expensive than the recently release Tracktion 5 at 59 €
I looked at this article : http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2014/ ... ac-windows
And they won my trial download !

It looks horrendous, like something from the 90s.bulusglo wrote:Bitwig Studio is announced for 299 €

Getting both doesn't make much sense to me, they are very very similar.nimano45 wrote:Looking for a new DAW to replace FL Studio, and I am currently torn between Bitwig and Live. Is it a good idea to buy both, and if not, which one would you recommend?

I wonder if there'll be a good integration of Maschine hardware into bitwig.

a DAW without send/return..
that would be kinda..
a send channel is a bus channel, what you probaply mean is a group track isn`t it? if yes, then its not there yet, but has high priority.

...on the subject of group tracks, I think they would be nice, especially nested group tracks.... BUT I will say this, with the workflow and layouts of Bitwig, even some of the features like tabbed browsing, layered editing, and the ability to put midi and audio events into clips, all of those features make handling groups of tracks much easier.... and TBH, I still appreciate minimal German industrial approach where we don't add features that can be accomplished other ways... Ableton does this but they fail half the time, because they don't make their alternative workarounds EASY.. and it looks to be like Bitwig have given such a tight and thoughtful consideration to workflow and workarounds that it will work great... and I'm really looking forward to 2.0 already and updates in general, I reckon they are probably planning something special for group tracks, personally I can imagine some very clever implementations that people have not done yet... I'm thinking about things like better organisation, but even features like layered editing, of course comping, and using the feature to help with recordings, when you mix and match those things, you could have a really special thing... and again, this is the problem with Ableton, they did not conceive everything they needed in the beginning and that's probably why they can't seem to do really obvious things.... that tiny 8 man team at Bitwig, you can kinda see who does what and they have a really well thought thought out roadmap... so group tracks will be cool, I bet multi outs will be cool too, I mean it's modular under the hood, so yeah I can imagine their implementation to be quite special indeed. ... maybe I'm imagining too much, I definitely made that mistake with Ableton but looking back they were screwed from the get go, it was never conceived to be a proper DAW and they outgrew their capability to satisfy their customers..Suloo wrote:a DAW without send/return..that would be kinda..

vst multi out + group tracks ++ different panning modes (like in cubase), with -3db/-6db volume balance in the center, and maybe surround support? that would be my wishlist so far
