Scratching my head: Sound Playback Problem

I recently switched my live VST gear (I play live in a band) from a PC with an audigy and a delta 1010 to a laptop with an RME multiface. I love it (wow how nice not to lug my rackmount to gigs) except that I've lost key functionality:

On a couple of intros I've been playing trippy sample tracks in winamp and building over top... This used to not be a problem because my primary sound driver was my audigy and I ran it into the 1010 using SPDIF. Now I only have one sound card that's worth anything (system noise is too high coming from my laptop's internal card). SO I can only run one program or the other-- winamp or chainer-- ASIO playback halts the moment I open the other...

Any solutions? A simple mp3/wav VST pluggy would hit the spot... Is there such a beast?

TIA for any help as a gig on Sat makes this kinda urgent (although I am foreseeing a diskman hooked into the board sat night)

Hi,
because ASIO protocole is not Multi Client, it will not be possible to use the ASIO protocole for your problem ...
OS X on Mac can do it because of the "CoreAudio" but you'r on PC .

Better try to Sync asoft like Cubase or Logic or Sonar or whatever with Wav instead of mp3
?

Changing my VST host from Chainer is not an option. No other host has compared as far as live interface and stability.

Anybody know of a VST that can act as a media player?

there are a few vst samplers that can play you audio ( not sure on mp2 though. look around. there is one that is called turntablist i think. that mey help you out.
