Sorry for making another thread, as it's a little similar to my "sound libraries" thread, but I would like to keep the discussions separate.

I know that there are a lot of people selling synth presets for both software and hardware synthesizers (and other plug-ins, like Channel Strip settings for Logic).
Any idea if that violates anything? (my main points of interest is Logic ES2)

If the presets are made from scratch, then they are my original work, nothing in the license agreement forbids it, the manufacturer doesn't sell preset packs on his own (so I'm not a competition for them), the use of the presets requires people to buy the plugin (so they benefit from my presets), selling presets has been common practice since the dawn of synthesizers, I see no problems here, anyone?

The only problem might be trademark use, but since I have to name the synthesizer (plugin) in order for people to know which synth the presets are for, so from what I've read it's fair "nominative use" as long as i don't pretend that it's the company's product or that I'm affiliated or endorsed by them and I don't use the logos, just name of the synth in plain font. It's the same as generic vacuum cleaner bags from what I understand.

Any insight welcome
