Did you receive support on Studio One recently?

I posted a ticket today and was just rejected and referred to local country distributor.
So first hand support close to developers are at an end it seems.
Did you have any luck with your ticket locally?
Thanks.

biggest bullshit ever. i bought it online. which local country distributor this guys mean? i dont think they have an adaquate support.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Presonus' support SUCKS.
I posted a thread on their forum over a year ago asking one simple question and I never received one response. I'll never give the company another penny.

I quizzed Presonus support on feedback routing in SO and was referred to a post I'd made on the forum where I'd hypothesised a technique to possibly do the same.
I've also had them ask me to clarify/re-word some pretty simple queries (where I'd used SO specific jargon) as the support staff couldn't get their head around what I was trying to achieve. This was regarding sending MIDI from one track to another to trigger an LFO in a plugin.
O.o

External keyboard/synth - It does not record controllers.LawrenceF wrote:That sucks.![]()
What was your support request related to? (if you don't mind me asking)
Found out so far - if midi monitor is on - it records some controllers, otherwise not, only note on/off.
But only pitch and modulation that is part of standard parameters.
Also important - output port must be given when doing recording, you will not succed record anything but notes otherwise.
Expression and sustain I have not succeded to record at all.
Note. External synth/organ.
VSTi seem to work most of the time, and partly because you must monitor midi to get any sound. But output device is vital it seems - and how it is configured/mapped.
Current workaround seems to be to record with some other sound on a VSTi - and then redirect that track to external organ.
And to my surprice, swedish support answered me really late tonight - so maybe they are prepared to offer good support. But he had no solution for me - but still. Kudos to them. We'll see tomorrow.
Time to call it a day.

I have used their support 3-4 times during two years. It's been good actually. Takes a couple of days for first reply, but otherwise ok.hibidy wrote:But they have been pretty good to a lot of people. I don't like the idea of referring support to the seller though
But I also hate the idea that distance to developer increase that much.

I think they state at forum - it's only users helping users.bailees7irish wrote:Presonus' support SUCKS.

Feature request they claim to read as they say.
Maybe they are growing success and simply cannot handle support globally. I come to think about Cakewalk that hardly respond - that is worse.
My hopes are up a little bit.

Yes, a single call from scandinavia will cost more than the product to buy.AstralExistence wrote:lfm wrote:I come to think about Cakewalk that hardly respond - that is worse.

I did once to Waves support and it doubled my phonebill.
The asyncronous handling of email is much better for both parties, I think. I send when I have the time, vendor respond when they have the time.
2010 Cakewalk had a decent one week responsetime. Last year I tried and three weeks went before I made a lot of noise on KVR, and one CW guy pushed for me to get help.
Maybe Presonus do what is necessary - you cannot maintain support globally once you grow over a certain size as a company. You have to delegate this - maybe.

He, he, so you give advice that apply to 0.00000001% of KVR population.AstralExistence wrote: but cakewalk is located in boston the next state over from ct where i live. for me, there very easy to reach.
Anyway - latest I figured about Studio One:
Record of midi without monitor on excludes controllers - that stands as valid - and is clearly a bug.It actually applies to both hardware and VSTi's.
Don't follow advice and map any controllers like CC1, CC7, CC10, CC11, CC64 etc that usually are supported by midi devices anyway.
If any of these are mapped, it means these controllers are eaten by system unless specifically mapped to end controller. That was my mistake that made expression and sustain not appear to recorded - it was a loose end, sort of. When trying to figure out why no controllers were recorded I started messing with these mappings - before I found the monitor on thingy.
If anybody wondered....
