I;ve dealt with NI US support and they have always been quick and helpful
(Maybe not the nicest, but they get the job done)
I just chalk it up to tech support people...I'd be a bitch too if I had to deal with clueless people 8 hours a day..
(LOL)

Well you got replies from two content developers already - AudioThing and myselfSAW75 wrote:While we're at it I'll just smack myself for not putting this in the Sampler subforum.![]()
I was hoping to get some feedback from content developers on this and was REALLY hoping other options were being explored...

I'll continue developing libraries for MachFive and HALion, returning to Kontakt after spending many months with those two seems so incredibly limited.

It does everything I need.

ask somebody who knows how really sophisticated scripting work.Sampleconstruct wrote:I'll continue developing libraries for MachFive and HALion, returning to Kontakt after spending many months with those two seems so incredibly limited.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I'm not talking about the scripting part, Kontakt's scripting is fine.murnau wrote:ask somebody who knows how really sophisticated scripting work.Sampleconstruct wrote:I'll continue developing libraries for MachFive and HALion, returning to Kontakt after spending many months with those two seems so incredibly limited.

Yes, if you want to reach the most users - Kontakt is it. Just look at the very reasonably priced stuff that comes out of Hollow Sun - truly cool gui's and great sound.
It's incredibly easy to whip out a usable sample library for Kontakt. Even if you are just sampling old hardware for yourself usng Samplit or something.
While some parts of the interface are a little clunky, compared to MachFive it is a dream. With all the dongle hate here I would think Kontakt is the perfect solution.
I have never had an issue with NI support.

I have TX16Wx Pro also which is a nice little program. I love it for it's simplicity. It is great for making your own samples, or something quick to play one shot samples.
However, I eventually got Kontakt as well. You almost have to for compatibility with existing cool stuff out there.
I have never had an issue with NI. I even registered a 12 year old program a few months ago, and it was done in 2 days with only 2 emails.
I do wish the interface was more wide than tall. Seems like I constantly scroll. You get used to it though. I don't expect it to change anytime soon. I tried Kontakt 1 back in 2001, and it was the same way.... just more green

Hoping Machfive will take off with developers, but after holding off for a year I finally took the Kontakt plunge. Just as I suspected, I went from losing my shirt on soft synths to losing my shirt on sample sets. But I had already started acquiring Orange Tree Samples and the great stuff from Hollow Sun, so the writing was on the wall. If you were only interested in creating your own sample sets and mapping them, I'd probably suggest Machfive. But Kontakt is inevitable. "Kontakt is Inevitable" They should pay me for that

I already own it via a crossgrade but I thought full Kontakt should have been available with a cheaper library free option. i.e. Just the sampler where you can make your own and use other peoples' creations...
