just had a look through their other apps, anyone have a comparison of ipulsaret and stria? Seems stria is basically all oscilator while ipulsaret can use wav+osc? Just trying to figure out the major differences between the 2

I think this deserves the long wait (originally announced the end of last August
). Sounds very good. Like the real once it's a geeky synth and likely intended for experimental stuff and noise etc, rather than conventional keyboard synth, but if you're into that category this is a very nice once to form yet another great iOS synth collection. I've never touched a real one but this emulation feels very good. You really need to watch each knob level, freq and voltage to get a desired result (signal meter comes to play here) Back panel etc is a bit intuitive I think, but that kinda enhance geekiness
Good work I love it!

I just downloaded and tried it on my iPad2. I just tried a simple FM patch, osc2->osc1, and at higher pitches, the modulation effect is more like sample and hold. Very strange and not expected. I hope that there are not too many bad surprises. I have an AKS Synthi in the studio, and look forward to pairing up the old with the new.

I'm experiencing this kind of unexpected behavior but I have no idea if the real thing behaves like thatNed Bouhalassa wrote:I just downloaded and tried it on my iPad2. ---First thoughts--
Would I buy this again or the first time if I'd known how it sounds or what it's probably good for? Most likely not.
As I've mentioned before, I had a Synthi AKS decades ago and had a lot of fun making strange noises with it and spending hours fiddling rather than studying but now I don't have that time or the inclination to make strange sounds so this may be another useless expenditure but who knows? I really bought this because of The Who demo and thought someone was playing it live but evidently it's a recording or a sample so that ruins it for me and live use.
Of course everyone else's mileage will vary and some will love it which is good, who kows maybe I'll have some time to make noises too.

It supports Audiobus, you can remove that organ sample and play Galileo through it live, then you'll basically be doing the same thing Townsend did.

When I start to noodle on the Synthi in my studio, I like to start with a basic FM patch, say Osc 2 into Osc 1, or for greater variation Osc 3 -> Osc 2 -> Osc 1. I can't even come close to the sound of FM when I try this on iVCS3, I can this strange step-like modulation - tell me I'm wrong, please.

Just a wild ass guess, cause I don't even understand 1% of this thing, but the pins can have different impedences- could that have anything to do with it?

So, I can't even do Filter FM. Can anyone confirm that modulation at audiorate speeds is just not possible?
