Basically, Dune is very similar to Sylenth, with the compressor even more soAnd the price is also about the same...

Yes, I noticed that a lot of developers drown their factory presets in effectsKriminal wrote:carrieres wrote:yes we have a compressor
Is there?
Dunno why synths have fx at all....i use diff fx to tailor a sound to fit in a track....compressors are a big no anyway for me. I guess its just for making presets sound 'good' straight out of the box. Luckily you can turn them off.
Still, when used appropriately, why would one not use built-in standard effects? For more unusual effects one can still use external plugins...
It is nice to have the complete sound in one patch, also makes it easier to share presets with others...
My only problem with built-in effects is when they sound bad, like the SynthEdit reverb module, which destroys the sound instead of enhancing it.

I read somewhere from another post dune II will have a type of vector synthesis with an xy pad and its possible to morph between oscillators or patches? I assume this is correct info? How does it compare to the new features blue II is gonna have ie snap to grid xy settings and recordable xy curve etc?

Where did you read that? Note that it is possible to do vector style synthesis already with DUNE 1, even though there isn't the XY pad.mysticvibes wrote:I read somewhere from another post dune II will have a type of vector synthesis with an xy pad and its possible to morph between oscillators or patches? I think it was in one of the recent Blue II threads but I can't seem to find the exact thread, sorry maybe I misunderstood something along the way? About the vector synthesis in Dune now, do you mean using the mod matrix maybe?

Yes, using the matrix. You need two voices and different modulations for osc mix in each voice. Set each oscillator to a different waveform, i.e. 2 voices x 2 osc.

Is the plan still Q1? I don't know anything about marketing but will the release be affected by any other releases ie blue II?? Still waiting anxiously for Dune II
