I like TRON: Legacy reconfigured a little better. Not sure how I feel about a possible TRON 3 but I do look forward to the ultimate homage... PR0N.

I absolutely loved it. Not just because I'm biased

The movie was OK-ish. Nothing special. Nowhere near the original. That's the thing with this kind of remakes and prequels/sequels.
The CGI was awesome back in the day and basically everything which maked the movie great (let's be honest...the story of the first Tron was as non-existent as in the new one) but today it's just everywhere and nothing special anymore. It's simply impossible to make a good remake of these movies.

That's even true for the newer Star Wars movies to some extent.
Now everyone complains that they don't have the feeling of the old ones but if Lucas had used the techniques of the older movies everyone would complain that the special FX in the first movies were state of the art back then and why he doesn't use the best technology of today for the newer movies.

Back to the soundtrack: I liked the electronic parts. I'd never listen to music like that but they worked for the movie. I don't like that Daft Punk get all the credits just because they made 3 or 4 tracks for the soundtrack though.
I haven't really noticed the orchestral parts, that doesn't have to be a bad thing though.

Well, for "fixes", this is what the fanbase are for (*cough* Adywan's StarWars Revisited *cough*).

TRON had the typical Disney story... sh*t went downhill, there is a hero that outgrows himself, the damsel in distress is rescued from a knight in shining armor - everything's fine. That Flynn beamed in there to get his rights back is only secondary.

TRON LEGACY makes actually more sense if you played the game TRON: Evolution (IMO a not so good move on the long run), since that is the tie in - the missing years - explained, but in game form. Disney's money machine.


Oh and, the french duo did make the full OST.

I really like the soundtrack to be honest. A bit repetitive, but it's interesting to listen to. Pretty sure "The Game Has Changed" has lots of samples in it though. You can hear the background noise cut in and out when the interesting leads and basses cut out. Wouldn't be Daft Punk without a little bit of sampling anyway I guess!

I liked it. I think most of Reconfigured (the remix album) was better overall, though.

Movie soundtracks usually are better with the movie than they are standalone, simply due to repetition and pacing. The remix adds enough interest that repeating themes works better.

Funny, because this was a fake trailer (can be seen with the Cillian Murphy scenes, which were taken from "Inception"), in combination with scenes from an excellent fan film called "Tron: Destiny". Which has (unfortunately) nothing to do with Disney, but shouldn't hide itself at all.



Credits of this OST are in the description. The info that "Tron3" comes out in 2015 is still just a mere rumor/comment by Bruce Boxleitner. But with the ending and secret scenes of "Legacy", it's bound to happen eventually.

Then again, I'd love to see a second season of "Uprising" first.
