I wonder if VOS ever plans to go 64-bit... :/ I know it's SynthMaster woes, but still... why not collab with Fabien and VladG to port his stuff to pure C++?

So, in a topic about his collaboration with those two, you are asking why he is not collaborating with those twoEvilDragon wrote: why not collab with Fabien and VladG to port his stuff to pure C++?

...but for different reason - to port his own VOS plugins to 64-bit, Mac, etc.

I think Evil was talking about his existing 32-bit stuff....to port his stuff to pure C++?...
Edit: ok he was a tad faster.

that would be great. i'd gladly become paying customer. i have little interest in TDR stuff, but VoS stuff ported to 64-bit would be awesome. although it's very interesting to see what comes out of this!
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

So the best freeware developers finally work together to create and maybe port excellent plugins over to x64 and Mac.
Was about time since people mentioned "why not join forces?".
The "teamDNR collaborative" and "Smartelectronix" spirit being revived - but the right way this time around? Whatever the future might bring - and if it's just a new plugin... Vladg and TDL already showed what's possible in terms of working together (Proximity). It can only get more interesting from there.
Now the only problem I see, is the VST3 SDK and Wavelab...

I'd like to thank this thread for introducing me to the really superb TDR Feedback Compressor II. Wow. Pro quality in every way, and a very, very impressive sound. I'll be integrating this into my toolkit for sure, thanks to the individual who mentioned it by name

I am not a big fan of factory presets especially from dynamic processors but the BASS one (there is only one) which comes with the TDRFCII is so mofo cool. It works mostly on everything that has very rapid amplitude changes. You only have to adjust threshold and everything should be "tamed" instantly. I love it on Arpeggios, Bass, "not tight played stuff" etc. Perfect for leveling.

Thanks for the tip! This is the kind of freeware that inspires faith that freeware WILL remain competitive with payware going forward. I'd had some serious doubts because so many very, very smart, talented developers who might have, five years back, made their stuff for free, are now charging (compared to large software companies, I mean) very affordable amounts for their products instead - Klanghelm, LVC Audio, SKnote, GSi, to name just a few.Halma wrote:I am not a big fan of factory presets especially from dynamic processors but the BASS one (there is only one) which comes with the TDRFCII is so mofo cool. But then you see something like this, and it's pro quality. Just is. And then three great developers are working together to produce something cool and new... I'm hype-resistant in most cases, but this has me excited.

I think it is fair to call them SmartdynamixCompyfox wrote:"Smartelectronix" spirit being revived

Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.

New territory is fine, and I'll definitely look forward to that.
But don't forget your longtime users on the long run.
BootEQ and EpicVerb especially are your most recommended tools, then comes PreFix and after that your compressors. Seeing them "ported" or finally "native" would be excellent. (hey, I can dream!).
I mean... how many FRs do you get to port to Mac, or make it available as x64 at least? Currently, Steinberg is even so unpredictable in terms of the VST SDK, that we don't know at this point if we're forced to go x64 (which I think will be the case) or if VST2.x is dropped in the process as well.
SynthMaker/Flowstone doesn't offer that IIRC. And not all of your plugins work bridged.
So yeah... definitely looking forward to the collaboration. But also looking forward to keeping old tools alive.
