Am I imagining it or has Vibert's music gotten more and more formulaic and genre-oriented over the years? What drew me to his music in the mid-90's was a combination of two factors. Firstly, his music straddled genre boundaries and secondly, whether he was making midtempo, trip-hop or jungle tinged beats, he always had a keen sense of rhythmic diversity, and was able to manipulate percieved boundaries between different levels of rhythm and polyrhythm.

I know all artists have to evolve and change and wotnot but I'm not getting any of these things from his music any more, from around the Musipal days onwards.

Am I just missing the halcyon days of mid 90's electronic music? Am I alone? I used to be literally obsessed with this guy's output and maybe that has something to do with it - burnout? Not sure.
